يوسف

بِسْمِin (the) name ٱللَّهِ(of) allah ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِthe most gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِthe most merciful

الٓرalif laam ra تِلْكَthese ءَايَٰتُ(are the) verses ٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the book ٱلْمُبِينِ[the] clear۝١ Āyah 1

إِنَّآindeed we أَنزَلْنَٰهُwe have sent it down قُرْءَٰنًا(as) a quran in arabic عَرَبِيًّا(as) a quran in arabic لَّعَلَّكُمْso that you may تَعْقِلُونَunderstand۝٢ Āyah 2

نَحْنُwe نَقُصُّrelate عَلَيْكَto you أَحْسَنَthe best ٱلْقَصَصِof the narrations بِمَآin what أَوْحَيْنَآwe have revealed إِلَيْكَto you هَٰذَا(of) this ٱلْقُرْءَانَthe quran وَإِنalthough كُنتَyou were مِنbefore it قَبْلِهِۦbefore it لَمِنَsurely among ٱلْغَٰفِلِينَthe unaware۝٣ Āyah 3

إِذْwhen قَالَsaid يُوسُفُyusuf لِأَبِيهِto his father يَٰٓأَبَتِo my father إِنِّىindeed i رَأَيْتُi saw أَحَدَeleven عَشَرَeleven كَوْكَبًاstar(s) وَٱلشَّمْسَand the sun وَٱلْقَمَرَand the moon; رَأَيْتُهُمْi saw them لِىto me سَٰجِدِينَprostrating۝٤ Āyah 4

قَالَhe said يَٰبُنَىَّo my son لَا(do) not تَقْصُصْrelate رُءْيَاكَyour vision عَلَىٰٓto إِخْوَتِكَyour brothers فَيَكِيدُوا۟lest they plan لَكَagainst you كَيْدًاa plot إِنَّindeed ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَthe shaitaan لِلْإِنسَٰنِ(is) to man عَدُوٌّan enemy مُّبِينٌopen۝٥ Āyah 5

وَكَذَٰلِكَand thus يَجْتَبِيكَwill choose you رَبُّكَyour lord وَيُعَلِّمُكَand will teach you مِنof تَأْوِيلِ(the) interpretation ٱلْأَحَادِيثِ(of) the narratives وَيُتِمُّand complete نِعْمَتَهُۥhis favor عَلَيْكَon you وَعَلَىٰٓand on ءَالِ(the) family يَعْقُوبَ(of) yaqub كَمَآas أَتَمَّهَاhe completed it عَلَىٰٓon أَبَوَيْكَyour two forefathers مِنbefore قَبْلُbefore إِبْرَٰهِيمَibrahim وَإِسْحَٰقَand ishaq إِنَّindeed رَبَّكَyour lord عَلِيمٌ(is) all knower حَكِيمٌall wise۝٦ Āyah 6
