الإسراء

بِسْمِin (the) name ٱللَّهِ(of) allah ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِthe most gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِthe most merciful

سُبْحَٰنَexalted ٱلَّذِىٓ(is) the one who أَسْرَىٰtook بِعَبْدِهِۦhis servant لَيْلًا(by) night مِّنَfrom ٱلْمَسْجِدِal masjid al haraam ٱلْحَرَامِal masjid al haraam إِلَىto ٱلْمَسْجِدِal masjid al aqsa ٱلْأَقْصَاal masjid al aqsa ٱلَّذِىwhich بَٰرَكْنَاwe blessed حَوْلَهُۥits surroundings لِنُرِيَهُۥthat we may show مِنْof ءَايَٰتِنَآour signs إِنَّهُۥindeed he هُوَhe ٱلسَّمِيعُ(is) the all hearer ٱلْبَصِيرُthe all seer۝١ Āyah 1

وَءَاتَيْنَاand we gave مُوسَىmusa ٱلْكِتَٰبَthe book وَجَعَلْنَٰهُand made it هُدًىa guidance لِّبَنِىٓfor the children إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(of) israel أَلَّاthat not تَتَّخِذُوا۟you take مِنother than me دُونِىother than me وَكِيلًا(as) a disposer of affairs۝٢ Āyah 2

ذُرِّيَّةَoffsprings مَنْ(of one) who حَمَلْنَاwe carried مَعَwith نُوحٍnuh إِنَّهُۥindeed he كَانَwas عَبْدًاa servant شَكُورًاgrateful۝٣ Āyah 3

وَقَضَيْنَآand we decreed إِلَىٰfor بَنِىٓ(the) children إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(of) israel فِىin ٱلْكِتَٰبِthe book لَتُفْسِدُنَّsurely you will cause corruption فِىin ٱلْأَرْضِthe earth مَرَّتَيْنِtwice وَلَتَعْلُنَّand surely you will reach عُلُوًّاhaughtiness كَبِيرًاgreat۝٤ Āyah 4

فَإِذَاso when جَآءَcame وَعْدُ(the) promise أُولَىٰهُمَا(for) the first of the two بَعَثْنَاwe raised عَلَيْكُمْagainst you عِبَادًاservants لَّنَآof ours أُو۟لِىthose of great military might بَأْسٍthose of great military might شَدِيدٍthose of great military might فَجَاسُوا۟and they entered خِلَٰلَthe inner most part ٱلدِّيَارِ(of) the homes وَكَانَand (it) was وَعْدًاa promise مَّفْعُولًاfulfilled۝٥ Āyah 5

ثُمَّthen رَدَدْنَاwe gave back لَكُمُto you ٱلْكَرَّةَthe return victory عَلَيْهِمْover them وَأَمْدَدْنَٰكُمand we reinforced you بِأَمْوَٰلٍwith the wealth وَبَنِينَand sons وَجَعَلْنَٰكُمْand made you أَكْثَرَmore نَفِيرًاnumerous۝٦ Āyah 6

إِنْif أَحْسَنتُمْyou do good أَحْسَنتُمْyou do good لِأَنفُسِكُمْfor yourselves; وَإِنْand if أَسَأْتُمْyou do evil فَلَهَاthen it is for it فَإِذَاso when جَآءَcame وَعْدُpromise ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِthe last لِيَسُـۥٓـُٔوا۟to sadden وُجُوهَكُمْyour faces وَلِيَدْخُلُوا۟and to enter ٱلْمَسْجِدَthe masjid كَمَاjust as دَخَلُوهُthey (had) entered it أَوَّلَfirst مَرَّةٍtime وَلِيُتَبِّرُوا۟and to destroy مَاwhat عَلَوْا۟they had conquered تَتْبِيرًا(with) destruction۝٧ Āyah 7

عَسَىٰ(it) may be رَبُّكُمْthat your lord أَنthat your lord يَرْحَمَكُمْ(may) have mercy upon you وَإِنْbut if عُدتُّمْyou return عُدْنَاwe will return وَجَعَلْنَاand we have made جَهَنَّمَhell لِلْكَٰفِرِينَfor the disbelievers حَصِيرًاa prison bed۝٨ Āyah 8

إِنَّindeed هَٰذَاthis ٱلْقُرْءَانَthe quran يَهْدِىguides لِلَّتِىto that هِىَwhich أَقْوَمُ(is) most straight وَيُبَشِّرُand gives glad tidings ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَto the believers ٱلَّذِينَthose who يَعْمَلُونَdo ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِthe righteous deeds أَنَّthat لَهُمْfor them أَجْرًا(is) a reward كَبِيرًاgreat۝٩ Āyah 9

وَأَنَّand that ٱلَّذِينَthose who لَا(do) not يُؤْمِنُونَbelieve بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِin the hereafter أَعْتَدْنَاwe have prepared لَهُمْfor them عَذَابًاa punishment أَلِيمًاpainful۝١٠ Āyah 10
