الإسراء

وَيَدْعُand prays ٱلْإِنسَٰنُthe man بِٱلشَّرِّfor evil دُعَآءَهُۥ(as) he prays بِٱلْخَيْرِfor the good وَكَانَand is ٱلْإِنسَٰنُthe man عَجُولًاever hasty۝١١ Āyah 11

وَجَعَلْنَاand we have made ٱلَّيْلَthe night وَٱلنَّهَارَand the day ءَايَتَيْنِ(as) two signs فَمَحَوْنَآthen we erased ءَايَةَ(the) sign ٱلَّيْلِ(of) the night وَجَعَلْنَآand we made ءَايَةَ(the) sign ٱلنَّهَارِ(of) the day مُبْصِرَةًvisible لِّتَبْتَغُوا۟that you may seek فَضْلًاbounty مِّنfrom رَّبِّكُمْyour lord وَلِتَعْلَمُوا۟and that you may know عَدَدَ(the) number ٱلسِّنِينَ(of) the years وَٱلْحِسَابَand the account وَكُلَّand every شَىْءٍthing فَصَّلْنَٰهُwe have explained it تَفْصِيلًا(in) detail۝١٢ Āyah 12

وَكُلَّand (for) every إِنسَٰنٍman أَلْزَمْنَٰهُwe have fastened to him طَٰٓئِرَهُۥhis fate فِىin عُنُقِهِۦhis neck وَنُخْرِجُand we will bring forth لَهُۥfor him يَوْمَ(on the) day ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ(of) the resurrection كِتَٰبًاa record يَلْقَىٰهُwhich he will find مَنشُورًاwide open۝١٣ Āyah 13

ٱقْرَأْread كِتَٰبَكَyour record كَفَىٰsufficient بِنَفْسِكَ(is) yourself ٱلْيَوْمَtoday عَلَيْكَagainst you حَسِيبًا(as) accountant۝١٤ Āyah 14

مَّنِwhoever ٱهْتَدَىٰ(is) guided فَإِنَّمَاthen only يَهْتَدِىhe is guided لِنَفْسِهِۦfor his soul وَمَنand whoever ضَلَّgoes astray فَإِنَّمَاthen only يَضِلُّhe goes astray عَلَيْهَاagainst it وَلَاand not تَزِرُwill bear وَازِرَةٌone laden with burden وِزْرَburden أُخْرَىٰ(of) another وَمَاand not كُنَّاwe مُعَذِّبِينَare to punish حَتَّىٰuntil نَبْعَثَwe have sent رَسُولًاa messenger۝١٥ Āyah 15

وَإِذَآand when أَرَدْنَآwe intend أَنthat نُّهْلِكَwe destroy قَرْيَةًa town أَمَرْنَاwe order مُتْرَفِيهَاits wealthy people فَفَسَقُوا۟but they defiantly disobey فِيهَاtherein; فَحَقَّso (is) proved true عَلَيْهَاagainst it ٱلْقَوْلُthe word فَدَمَّرْنَٰهَاand we destroy it تَدْمِيرًا(with) destruction۝١٦ Āyah 16

وَكَمْand how many أَهْلَكْنَاwe destroyed مِنَfrom ٱلْقُرُونِthe generations مِنۢafter بَعْدِafter نُوحٍnuh وَكَفَىٰand sufficient بِرَبِّكَ(is) your lord بِذُنُوبِconcerning the sins عِبَادِهِۦ(of) his servants خَبِيرًۢاall aware بَصِيرًاall seer۝١٧ Āyah 17

مَّنwhoever كَانَshould يُرِيدُdesire ٱلْعَاجِلَةَthe immediate عَجَّلْنَاwe hasten لَهُۥfor him فِيهَاin it مَاwhat نَشَآءُwe will لِمَنto whom نُّرِيدُwe intend ثُمَّthen جَعَلْنَاwe have made لَهُۥfor him جَهَنَّمَhell يَصْلَىٰهَاhe will burn مَذْمُومًاdisgraced مَّدْحُورًاrejected۝١٨ Āyah 18

وَمَنْand whoever أَرَادَdesires ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَthe hereafter وَسَعَىٰand exerts لَهَاfor it سَعْيَهَاthe effort وَهُوَwhile he مُؤْمِنٌ(is) a believer فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen those كَانَ[are] سَعْيُهُمtheir effort مَّشْكُورًا(is) appreciated۝١٩ Āyah 19

كُلًّا(to) each نُّمِدُّwe extend هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ(to) these وَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِand (to) these مِنْfrom عَطَآءِ(the) gift رَبِّكَ(of) your lord وَمَاand not كَانَis عَطَآءُ(the) gift رَبِّكَ(of) your lord مَحْظُورًاrestricted۝٢٠ Āyah 20

ٱنظُرْsee كَيْفَhow فَضَّلْنَاwe preferred بَعْضَهُمْsome of them عَلَىٰover بَعْضٍothers وَلَلْـَٔاخِرَةُand surely the hereafter أَكْبَرُ(is) greater دَرَجَٰتٍ(in) degrees وَأَكْبَرُand greater تَفْضِيلًا(in) excellence۝٢١ Āyah 21

لَّا(do) not تَجْعَلْmake مَعَwith ٱللَّهِallah إِلَٰهًاgod ءَاخَرَanother فَتَقْعُدَlest you will sit مَذْمُومًاdisgraced مَّخْذُولًاforsaken۝٢٢ Āyah 22
