The Moon
بِسْمِin (the) name ٱللَّهِ(of) allah ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِthe most gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِthe most merciful
ٱقْتَرَبَتِhas come near ٱلسَّاعَةُthe hour وَٱنشَقَّand has split ٱلْقَمَرُthe moon١ Āyah 1
وَإِنand if يَرَوْا۟they see ءَايَةًa sign يُعْرِضُوا۟they turn away وَيَقُولُوا۟and say سِحْرٌmagic مُّسْتَمِرٌّcontinuing٢ Āyah 2
وَكَذَّبُوا۟and they denied وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟and followed أَهْوَآءَهُمْtheir desires وَكُلُّbut (for) every أَمْرٍmatter مُّسْتَقِرٌّ(will be a) settlement٣ Āyah 3
وَلَقَدْand certainly جَآءَهُمhas come to them مِّنَof ٱلْأَنۢبَآءِthe information مَاwherein فِيهِwherein مُزْدَجَرٌ(is) deterrence٤ Āyah 4
حِكْمَةٌۢwisdom بَٰلِغَةٌperfect فَمَاbut not تُغْنِwill avail ٱلنُّذُرُthe warnings٥ Āyah 5
فَتَوَلَّso turn away عَنْهُمْfrom them يَوْمَ(the) day يَدْعُwill call ٱلدَّاعِthe caller إِلَىٰto شَىْءٍa thing نُّكُرٍterrible٦ Āyah 6
خُشَّعًا(will be) humbled أَبْصَٰرُهُمْtheir eyes يَخْرُجُونَthey will come forth مِنَfrom ٱلْأَجْدَاثِthe graves كَأَنَّهُمْas if they (were) جَرَادٌlocusts مُّنتَشِرٌspreading٧ Āyah 7
مُّهْطِعِينَracing ahead إِلَىtowards ٱلدَّاعِthe caller يَقُولُwill say ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَthe disbelievers هَٰذَاthis يَوْمٌ(is) a day عَسِرٌdifficult٨ Āyah 8
كَذَّبَتْdenied قَبْلَهُمْbefore them قَوْمُ(the) people نُوحٍ(of) nuh فَكَذَّبُوا۟and they denied عَبْدَنَاour slave وَقَالُوا۟and said مَجْنُونٌa madman وَٱزْدُجِرَand he was repelled٩ Āyah 9
فَدَعَاso he called رَبَّهُۥٓhis lord أَنِّىi am مَغْلُوبٌone overpowered فَٱنتَصِرْso help١٠ Āyah 10
فَفَتَحْنَآso we opened أَبْوَٰبَ(the) gates ٱلسَّمَآءِ(of) heaven بِمَآءٍwith water مُّنْهَمِرٍpouring down١١ Āyah 11
وَفَجَّرْنَاand we caused to burst ٱلْأَرْضَthe earth عُيُونًا(with) springs فَٱلْتَقَىso met ٱلْمَآءُthe water(s) عَلَىٰٓfor أَمْرٍa matter قَدْalready قُدِرَpredestined١٢ Āyah 12
وَحَمَلْنَٰهُand we carried him عَلَىٰon ذَاتِ(ark) made of planks أَلْوَٰحٍ(ark) made of planks وَدُسُرٍand nails١٣ Āyah 13
تَجْرِىsailing بِأَعْيُنِنَاbefore our eyes جَزَآءًa reward لِّمَنfor (he) who كَانَwas كُفِرَdenied١٤ Āyah 14
وَلَقَدand certainly تَّرَكْنَٰهَآwe left it ءَايَةً(as) a sign فَهَلْso is (there) مِنany مُّدَّكِرٍwho will receive admonition١٥ Āyah 15
فَكَيْفَso how كَانَwas عَذَابِىmy punishment وَنُذُرِand my warnings١٦ Āyah 16
وَلَقَدْand certainly يَسَّرْنَاwe have made easy ٱلْقُرْءَانَthe quran لِلذِّكْرِfor remembrance فَهَلْso is (there) مِنany مُّدَّكِرٍwho will receive admonition١٧ Āyah 17
كَذَّبَتْdenied عَادٌaad; فَكَيْفَso how كَانَwas عَذَابِىmy punishment وَنُذُرِand my warnings١٨ Āyah 18
إِنَّآindeed we أَرْسَلْنَا[we] sent عَلَيْهِمْupon them رِيحًاa wind صَرْصَرًاfurious فِىon يَوْمِa day نَحْسٍ(of) misfortune مُّسْتَمِرٍّcontinuous١٩ Āyah 19
تَنزِعُplucking out ٱلنَّاسَmen كَأَنَّهُمْas if they (were) أَعْجَازُtrunks نَخْلٍ(of) date palms مُّنقَعِرٍuprooted٢٠ Āyah 20
فَكَيْفَso how كَانَwas عَذَابِىmy punishment وَنُذُرِand my warnings٢١ Āyah 21
وَلَقَدْand certainly يَسَّرْنَاwe have made easy ٱلْقُرْءَانَthe quran لِلذِّكْرِfor remembrance فَهَلْso is (there) مِنany مُّدَّكِرٍwho will receive admonition٢٢ Āyah 22
