المزمل

بِسْمِin (the) name ٱللَّهِ(of) allah ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِthe most gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِthe most merciful

يَٰٓأَيُّهَاo you ٱلْمُزَّمِّلُwho wraps himself۝١ Āyah 1

قُمِstand ٱلَّيْلَ(in) the night إِلَّاexcept قَلِيلًاa little۝٢ Āyah 2

نِّصْفَهُۥٓhalf of it أَوِor ٱنقُصْlessen مِنْهُfrom it قَلِيلًاa little۝٣ Āyah 3

أَوْor زِدْadd عَلَيْهِto it وَرَتِّلِand recite ٱلْقُرْءَانَthe quran تَرْتِيلًا(with) measured rhythmic recitation۝٤ Āyah 4

إِنَّاindeed we سَنُلْقِىwill cast عَلَيْكَupon you قَوْلًاa word ثَقِيلًاheavy۝٥ Āyah 5

إِنَّindeed نَاشِئَةَ(the) rising ٱلَّيْلِ(at) the night هِىَit أَشَدُّ(is) very hard وَطْـًٔاand most potent وَأَقْوَمُand more suitable قِيلًا(for) word۝٦ Āyah 6

إِنَّindeed لَكَfor you فِىin ٱلنَّهَارِthe day سَبْحًا(is) occupation طَوِيلًاprolonged۝٧ Āyah 7

وَٱذْكُرِand remember ٱسْمَ(the) name رَبِّكَ(of) your lord وَتَبَتَّلْand devote yourself إِلَيْهِto him تَبْتِيلًا(with) devotion۝٨ Āyah 8

رَّبُّ(the) lord ٱلْمَشْرِقِ(of) the east وَٱلْمَغْرِبِand the west; لَآ(there is) no إِلَٰهَgod إِلَّاexcept هُوَhim فَٱتَّخِذْهُso take him وَكِيلًا(as) disposer of affairs۝٩ Āyah 9

وَٱصْبِرْand be patient عَلَىٰover مَاwhat يَقُولُونَthey say وَٱهْجُرْهُمْand avoid them هَجْرًاan avoidance جَمِيلًاgracious۝١٠ Āyah 10

وَذَرْنِىand leave me وَٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَand the deniers أُو۟لِىpossessors ٱلنَّعْمَةِ(of) the ease وَمَهِّلْهُمْand allow them respite قَلِيلًاa little۝١١ Āyah 11

إِنَّindeed لَدَيْنَآwith us أَنكَالًا(are) shackles وَجَحِيمًاand burning fire۝١٢ Āyah 12

وَطَعَامًاand food ذَاthat غُصَّةٍchokes وَعَذَابًاand a punishment أَلِيمًاpainful۝١٣ Āyah 13

يَوْمَ(on the) day تَرْجُفُwill quake ٱلْأَرْضُthe earth وَٱلْجِبَالُand the mountains وَكَانَتِand will become ٱلْجِبَالُthe mountains كَثِيبًاa heap of sand مَّهِيلًاpouring down۝١٤ Āyah 14

إِنَّآindeed we أَرْسَلْنَآ[we] have sent إِلَيْكُمْto you رَسُولًاa messenger شَٰهِدًا(as) a witness عَلَيْكُمْupon you كَمَآas أَرْسَلْنَآwe sent إِلَىٰto فِرْعَوْنَfiraun رَسُولًاa messenger۝١٥ Āyah 15

فَعَصَىٰbut disobeyed فِرْعَوْنُfiraun ٱلرَّسُولَthe messenger فَأَخَذْنَٰهُso we seized him أَخْذًا(with) a seizure وَبِيلًاruinous۝١٦ Āyah 16

فَكَيْفَthen how تَتَّقُونَwill you guard yourselves إِنif كَفَرْتُمْyou disbelieve يَوْمًاa day يَجْعَلُ(that) will make ٱلْوِلْدَٰنَthe children شِيبًاgray haired۝١٧ Āyah 17

ٱلسَّمَآءُthe heaven مُنفَطِرٌۢ(will) break apart بِهِۦtherefrom كَانَis وَعْدُهُۥhis promise مَفْعُولًاto be fulfilled۝١٨ Āyah 18

إِنَّindeed هَٰذِهِۦthis تَذْكِرَةٌ(is) a reminder فَمَنthen whoever شَآءَwills ٱتَّخَذَ(let him) take إِلَىٰto رَبِّهِۦhis lord سَبِيلًاa way۝١٩ Āyah 19
