هود

بِسْمِin (the) name ٱللَّهِ(of) allah ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِthe most gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِthe most merciful

الٓرalif lam ra كِتَٰبٌ(this is) a book أُحْكِمَتْare perfected ءَايَٰتُهُۥits verses ثُمَّmoreover فُصِّلَتْexplained in detail مِنfrom (he one who) لَّدُنْfrom (he one who) حَكِيمٍ(is) all wise خَبِيرٍall aware۝١ Āyah 1

أَلَّاthat not تَعْبُدُوٓا۟you worship إِلَّاbut ٱللَّهَallah إِنَّنِىindeed i am لَكُمto you مِّنْهُfrom him نَذِيرٌa warner وَبَشِيرٌand a bearer of glad tidings۝٢ Āyah 2

وَأَنِand that ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟seek forgiveness رَبَّكُمْ(of) your lord ثُمَّand تُوبُوٓا۟turn in repentance إِلَيْهِto him يُمَتِّعْكُمhe will let you مَّتَٰعًاenjoy حَسَنًاa good إِلَىٰٓfor أَجَلٍa term مُّسَمًّىappointed وَيُؤْتِand give كُلَّ(to) every ذِىowner فَضْلٍ(of) grace فَضْلَهُۥhis grace وَإِنbut if تَوَلَّوْا۟you turn away فَإِنِّىٓthen indeed i أَخَافُfear عَلَيْكُمْfor you عَذَابَ(the) punishment يَوْمٍ(of) a great day كَبِيرٍ(of) a great day۝٣ Āyah 3

إِلَىto ٱللَّهِallah مَرْجِعُكُمْ(is) your return وَهُوَand he عَلَىٰ(is) on كُلِّevery شَىْءٍthing قَدِيرٌall powerful۝٤ Āyah 4

أَلَآno doubt إِنَّهُمْthey يَثْنُونَfold up صُدُورَهُمْtheir breasts لِيَسْتَخْفُوا۟that they may hide مِنْهُfrom him أَلَاsurely حِينَwhen يَسْتَغْشُونَthey cover (themselves) ثِيَابَهُمْ(with) their garments يَعْلَمُhe knows مَاwhat يُسِرُّونَthey conceal وَمَاand what يُعْلِنُونَthey reveal إِنَّهُۥindeed he عَلِيمٌۢ(is) all knower بِذَاتِof what ٱلصُّدُورِ(is in) the breasts۝٥ Āyah 5

وَمَاand not مِنany دَآبَّةٍmoving creature فِىin ٱلْأَرْضِthe earth إِلَّاbut عَلَىon ٱللَّهِallah رِزْقُهَا(is) its provision وَيَعْلَمُand he knows مُسْتَقَرَّهَاits dwelling place وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَاand its place of storage كُلٌّall فِى(is) in كِتَٰبٍa record مُّبِينٍclear۝٦ Āyah 6

وَهُوَand he ٱلَّذِى(is) the one who خَلَقَcreated ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَand the earth فِىin سِتَّةِsix أَيَّامٍepochs وَكَانَand his throne was عَرْشُهُۥand his throne was عَلَىon ٱلْمَآءِthe water لِيَبْلُوَكُمْthat he might test [you] أَيُّكُمْwhich of you أَحْسَنُ(is) best عَمَلًا(in) deed وَلَئِنbut if قُلْتَyou say إِنَّكُمindeed you مَّبْعُوثُونَ(will be) resurrected مِنۢafter بَعْدِafter ٱلْمَوْتِ[the] death لَيَقُولَنَّsurely would say ٱلَّذِينَthose who كَفَرُوٓا۟disbelieved إِنْthis is not هَٰذَآthis is not إِلَّاbut سِحْرٌa magic مُّبِينٌclear۝٧ Āyah 7

وَلَئِنْand if أَخَّرْنَاwe delay عَنْهُمُfrom them ٱلْعَذَابَthe punishment إِلَىٰٓfor أُمَّةٍa time مَّعْدُودَةٍdetermined لَّيَقُولُنَّthey will surely say مَاwhat يَحْبِسُهُۥٓdetains it أَلَاno doubt يَوْمَ(on) the day يَأْتِيهِمْit comes to them لَيْسَnot مَصْرُوفًا(will be) averted عَنْهُمْfrom them وَحَاقَand will surround بِهِمthem مَّاwhat كَانُوا۟they used (to) بِهِۦmock at [it] يَسْتَهْزِءُونَmock at [it]۝٨ Āyah 8
