الحجر

بِسْمِin (the) name ٱللَّهِ(of) allah ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِthe most gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِthe most merciful

الٓرalif laam ra تِلْكَthese ءَايَٰتُ(are) the verses ٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the book وَقُرْءَانٍand quran مُّبِينٍclear۝١ Āyah 1

رُّبَمَاperhaps يَوَدُّwill wish ٱلَّذِينَthose who كَفَرُوا۟disbelieved لَوْif كَانُوا۟they had been مُسْلِمِينَmuslims۝٢ Āyah 2

ذَرْهُمْleave them يَأْكُلُوا۟(to) eat وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟and enjoy وَيُلْهِهِمُand diverted them ٱلْأَمَلُthe hope فَسَوْفَthen soon يَعْلَمُونَthey will come to know۝٣ Āyah 3

وَمَآand not أَهْلَكْنَاwe destroyed مِنany قَرْيَةٍtown إِلَّاbut وَلَهَا(there was) for it كِتَابٌa decree مَّعْلُومٌknown۝٤ Āyah 4

مَّاnot تَسْبِقُ(can) advance مِنْany أُمَّةٍnation أَجَلَهَاits term وَمَاand not يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ(can) delay it۝٥ Āyah 5

وَقَالُوا۟and they say يَٰٓأَيُّهَاo you ٱلَّذِى(to) whom نُزِّلَhas been sent down عَلَيْهِ[on him] ٱلذِّكْرُthe reminder إِنَّكَindeed you لَمَجْنُونٌ(are) surely mad۝٦ Āyah 6

لَّوْ مَاwhy تَأْتِينَاyou bring to us بِٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِthe angels إِنif كُنتَyou are مِنَof ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَthe truthful۝٧ Āyah 7

مَاnot نُنَزِّلُwe send down ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَthe angels إِلَّاexcept بِٱلْحَقِّwith the truth; وَمَاand not كَانُوٓا۟they would be إِذًاthen مُّنظَرِينَgiven respite۝٨ Āyah 8

إِنَّاindeed we نَحْنُwe نَزَّلْنَاhave sent down ٱلذِّكْرَthe reminder وَإِنَّاand indeed we لَهُۥof it لَحَٰفِظُونَ(are) surely guardians۝٩ Āyah 9

وَلَقَدْand certainly أَرْسَلْنَاwe (had) sent مِنbefore you قَبْلِكَbefore you فِىin شِيَعِthe sects ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former (people)۝١٠ Āyah 10

وَمَاand not يَأْتِيهِمcame to them مِّنany رَّسُولٍmessenger إِلَّاbut كَانُوا۟they did بِهِۦat him يَسْتَهْزِءُونَmock۝١١ Āyah 11

كَذَٰلِكَthus نَسْلُكُهُۥwe let it enter فِىin قُلُوبِ(the) hearts ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ(of) the criminals۝١٢ Āyah 12

لَاnot يُؤْمِنُونَthey believe بِهِۦin it وَقَدْand verily خَلَتْhave passed سُنَّةُthe way(s) ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former (people)۝١٣ Āyah 13

وَلَوْand (even) if فَتَحْنَاwe opened عَلَيْهِمto them بَابًاa gate مِّنَfrom ٱلسَّمَآءِthe heaven فَظَلُّوا۟and they were to continue فِيهِtherein يَعْرُجُونَ(to) ascend۝١٤ Āyah 14

لَقَالُوٓا۟they would surely say إِنَّمَاonly سُكِّرَتْhave been dazzled أَبْصَٰرُنَاour eyes بَلْnay نَحْنُwe قَوْمٌ(are) a people مَّسْحُورُونَbewitched۝١٥ Āyah 15
