سبإ

وَلَقَدْand certainly ءَاتَيْنَاwe gave دَاوُۥدَdawood مِنَّاfrom us فَضْلًاbounty يَٰجِبَالُo mountains أَوِّبِىrepeat praises مَعَهُۥwith him وَٱلطَّيْرَand the birds وَأَلَنَّاand we made pliable لَهُfor him ٱلْحَدِيدَ[the] iron۝١٠ Āyah 10

أَنِthat ٱعْمَلْmake سَٰبِغَٰتٍfull coats of mail وَقَدِّرْand measure precisely فِى[of] ٱلسَّرْدِthe links (of armor) وَٱعْمَلُوا۟and work صَٰلِحًاrighteousness إِنِّىindeed i am بِمَاof what تَعْمَلُونَyou do بَصِيرٌall seer۝١١ Āyah 11

وَلِسُلَيْمَٰنَand to sulaiman ٱلرِّيحَthe wind غُدُوُّهَاits morning course شَهْرٌ(was) a month وَرَوَاحُهَاand its afternoon course شَهْرٌ(was) a month وَأَسَلْنَاand we caused to flow لَهُۥfor him عَيْنَa spring ٱلْقِطْرِ(of) molten copper وَمِنَand [of] ٱلْجِنِّthe jinn مَنwho يَعْمَلُworked بَيْنَbefore him يَدَيْهِbefore him بِإِذْنِby the permission رَبِّهِۦ(of) his lord وَمَنand whoever يَزِغْdeviated مِنْهُمْamong them عَنْfrom أَمْرِنَاour command نُذِقْهُwe will make him مِنْof عَذَابِ(the) punishment ٱلسَّعِيرِ(of) the blaze۝١٢ Āyah 12

يَعْمَلُونَthey worked لَهُۥfor him مَاwhat يَشَآءُhe willed مِنof مَّحَٰرِيبَelevated chambers وَتَمَٰثِيلَand statues وَجِفَانٍand bowls كَٱلْجَوَابِlike reservoirs وَقُدُورٍand cooking pots رَّاسِيَٰتٍfixed ٱعْمَلُوٓا۟work ءَالَo family دَاوُۥدَ(of) dawood شُكْرًا(in) gratitude وَقَلِيلٌbut few مِّنْof عِبَادِىَmy slaves ٱلشَّكُورُ(are) grateful۝١٣ Āyah 13

فَلَمَّاthen when قَضَيْنَاwe decreed عَلَيْهِfor him ٱلْمَوْتَthe death مَاnot دَلَّهُمْindicated to them عَلَىٰ[on] مَوْتِهِۦٓhis death إِلَّاexcept دَآبَّةُa creature ٱلْأَرْضِ(of) the earth تَأْكُلُeating مِنسَأَتَهُۥhis staff فَلَمَّاbut when خَرَّhe fell down تَبَيَّنَتِbecame clear ٱلْجِنُّ(to) the jinn أَنthat لَّوْif كَانُوا۟they had يَعْلَمُونَknown ٱلْغَيْبَthe unseen مَاnot لَبِثُوا۟they (would have) remained فِىin ٱلْعَذَابِthe punishment ٱلْمُهِينِhumiliating۝١٤ Āyah 14

لَقَدْcertainly كَانَ(there) was لِسَبَإٍfor saba فِىin مَسْكَنِهِمْtheir dwelling place ءَايَةٌa sign: جَنَّتَانِtwo gardens عَنon يَمِينٍ(the) right وَشِمَالٍand (on the) left كُلُوا۟eat مِنfrom رِّزْقِ(the) provision رَبِّكُمْ(of) your lord وَٱشْكُرُوا۟and be grateful لَهُۥto him بَلْدَةٌa land طَيِّبَةٌgood وَرَبٌّand a lord غَفُورٌoft forgiving۝١٥ Āyah 15

فَأَعْرَضُوا۟but they turned away فَأَرْسَلْنَاso we sent عَلَيْهِمْupon them سَيْلَ(the) flood ٱلْعَرِمِ(of) the dam وَبَدَّلْنَٰهُمand we changed for them بِجَنَّتَيْهِمْtheir two gardens جَنَّتَيْنِ(with) two gardens ذَوَاتَىْproducing fruit أُكُلٍproducing fruit خَمْطٍbitter وَأَثْلٍand tamarisks وَشَىْءٍand (some)thing مِّنof سِدْرٍlote trees قَلِيلٍfew۝١٦ Āyah 16

ذَٰلِكَthat جَزَيْنَٰهُمwe recompensed them بِمَاbecause كَفَرُوا۟they disbelieved وَهَلْand not نُجَٰزِىٓwe إِلَّاexcept ٱلْكَفُورَthe ungrateful۝١٧ Āyah 17

وَجَعَلْنَاand we made بَيْنَهُمْbetween them وَبَيْنَand between ٱلْقُرَىthe towns ٱلَّتِىwhich بَٰرَكْنَاwe had blessed فِيهَاin it قُرًىtowns ظَٰهِرَةًvisible وَقَدَّرْنَاand we determined فِيهَاbetween them ٱلسَّيْرَthe journey سِيرُوا۟travel فِيهَاbetween them لَيَالِىَ(by) night وَأَيَّامًاand (by) day ءَامِنِينَsafely۝١٨ Āyah 18

فَقَالُوا۟but they said رَبَّنَاour lord بَٰعِدْlengthen (the distance) بَيْنَbetween أَسْفَارِنَاour journeys وَظَلَمُوٓا۟and they wronged أَنفُسَهُمْthemselves فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْso we made them أَحَادِيثَnarrations وَمَزَّقْنَٰهُمْand we dispersed them كُلَّ(in) a total مُمَزَّقٍdispersion إِنَّindeed فِىin ذَٰلِكَthat لَـَٔايَٰتٍsurely (are) signs لِّكُلِّfor everyone صَبَّارٍpatient شَكُورٍ(and) grateful۝١٩ Āyah 19

وَلَقَدْand certainly صَدَّقَfound true عَلَيْهِمْabout them إِبْلِيسُiblis ظَنَّهُۥhis assumption فَٱتَّبَعُوهُso they followed him إِلَّاexcept فَرِيقًاa group مِّنَof ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers۝٢٠ Āyah 20

وَمَاand not كَانَwas لَهُۥfor him عَلَيْهِمover them مِّنany سُلْطَٰنٍauthority إِلَّاexcept لِنَعْلَمَthat we (might) make evident مَنwho يُؤْمِنُbelieves بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِin the hereafter مِمَّنْfrom (one) who هُوَ[he] مِنْهَاabout it فِى(is) in شَكٍّdoubt وَرَبُّكَand your lord عَلَىٰover كُلِّall شَىْءٍthings حَفِيظٌ(is) a guardian۝٢١ Āyah 21
