الممتحنة

عَسَىperhaps ٱللَّهُallah أَن[that] يَجْعَلَwill put بَيْنَكُمْbetween you وَبَيْنَand between ٱلَّذِينَthose (to) whom عَادَيْتُمyou have been enemies مِّنْهُمamong them مَّوَدَّةًlove وَٱللَّهُand allah قَدِيرٌ(is) all powerful وَٱللَّهُand allah غَفُورٌ(is) oft forgiving رَّحِيمٌmost merciful۝٧ Āyah 7

لَّاallah (does) not forbid you يَنْهَىٰكُمُallah (does) not forbid you ٱللَّهُallah (does) not forbid you عَنِfrom ٱلَّذِينَthose who لَمْ(do) not يُقَٰتِلُوكُمْfight you فِىin ٱلدِّينِthe religion وَلَمْand (do) not يُخْرِجُوكُمdrive you out مِّنof دِيَٰرِكُمْyour homes أَنthat تَبَرُّوهُمْyou deal kindly وَتُقْسِطُوٓا۟and deal justly إِلَيْهِمْwith them إِنَّindeed ٱللَّهَallah يُحِبُّloves ٱلْمُقْسِطِينَthose who act justly۝٨ Āyah 8

إِنَّمَاonly يَنْهَىٰكُمُallah forbids you ٱللَّهُallah forbids you عَنِfrom ٱلَّذِينَthose who قَٰتَلُوكُمْfight you فِىin ٱلدِّينِthe religion وَأَخْرَجُوكُمand drive you out مِّنof دِيَٰرِكُمْyour homes وَظَٰهَرُوا۟and support عَلَىٰٓin إِخْرَاجِكُمْyour expulsion أَنthat تَوَلَّوْهُمْyou make them allies وَمَنand whoever يَتَوَلَّهُمْmakes them allies فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen those هُمُ[they] ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ(are) the wrongdoers۝٩ Āyah 9

يَٰٓأَيُّهَاo you who believe ٱلَّذِينَo you who believe ءَامَنُوٓا۟o you who believe إِذَاwhen جَآءَكُمُcome to you ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتُthe believing women مُهَٰجِرَٰتٍ(as) emigrants فَٱمْتَحِنُوهُنَّthen examine them ٱللَّهُallah أَعْلَمُ(is) most knowing بِإِيمَٰنِهِنَّof their faith فَإِنْand if عَلِمْتُمُوهُنَّyou know them مُؤْمِنَٰتٍ(to be) believers فَلَاthen (do) not تَرْجِعُوهُنَّreturn them إِلَىto ٱلْكُفَّارِthe disbelievers لَاnot هُنَّthey حِلٌّ(are) lawful لَّهُمْfor them وَلَاand not هُمْthey يَحِلُّونَare lawful لَهُنَّfor them وَءَاتُوهُمbut give them مَّآwhat أَنفَقُوا۟they have spent وَلَاand not جُنَاحَany blame عَلَيْكُمْupon you أَنif تَنكِحُوهُنَّyou marry them إِذَآwhen ءَاتَيْتُمُوهُنَّyou have given them أُجُورَهُنَّtheir (bridal) dues وَلَاand (do) not تُمْسِكُوا۟hold بِعِصَمِto marriage bonds with disbelieving women ٱلْكَوَافِرِto marriage bonds with disbelieving women وَسْـَٔلُوا۟but ask (for) مَآwhat أَنفَقْتُمْyou have spent وَلْيَسْـَٔلُوا۟and let them ask مَآwhat أَنفَقُوا۟they have spent ذَٰلِكُمْthat حُكْمُ(is the) judgment ٱللَّهِ(of) allah يَحْكُمُhe judges بَيْنَكُمْbetween you وَٱللَّهُand allah عَلِيمٌ(is) all knowing حَكِيمٌall wise۝١٠ Āyah 10

وَإِنand if فَاتَكُمْhave gone from you شَىْءٌany مِّنْof أَزْوَٰجِكُمْyour wives إِلَىto ٱلْكُفَّارِthe disbelievers فَعَاقَبْتُمْthen your turn comes فَـَٔاتُوا۟then give ٱلَّذِينَ(to) those who ذَهَبَتْhave gone أَزْوَٰجُهُمtheir wives مِّثْلَ(the) like مَآ(of) what أَنفَقُوا۟they had spent وَٱتَّقُوا۟and fear ٱللَّهَallah ٱلَّذِىٓ(in) whom أَنتُمyou بِهِۦ[in him] مُؤْمِنُونَ(are) believers۝١١ Āyah 11

يَٰٓأَيُّهَاo prophet ٱلنَّبِىُّo prophet إِذَاwhen جَآءَكَcome to you ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتُthe believing women يُبَايِعْنَكَpledging to you عَلَىٰٓ[on] أَنthat لَّاnot يُشْرِكْنَthey will associate بِٱللَّهِwith allah شَيْـًٔاanything وَلَاand not يَسْرِقْنَthey will steal وَلَاand not يَزْنِينَthey will commit adultery وَلَاand not يَقْتُلْنَthey will kill أَوْلَٰدَهُنَّtheir children وَلَاand not يَأْتِينَthey bring بِبُهْتَٰنٍslander يَفْتَرِينَهُۥthey invent it بَيْنَbetween أَيْدِيهِنَّtheir hands وَأَرْجُلِهِنَّand their feet وَلَاand not يَعْصِينَكَthey will disobey you فِىin مَعْرُوفٍ(the) right فَبَايِعْهُنَّthen accept their pledge وَٱسْتَغْفِرْand ask forgiveness لَهُنَّfor them ٱللَّهَ(from) allah إِنَّindeed ٱللَّهَallah غَفُورٌ(is) oft forgiving رَّحِيمٌmost merciful۝١٢ Āyah 12

يَٰٓأَيُّهَاo you who believe ٱلَّذِينَo you who believe ءَامَنُوا۟o you who believe لَا(do) not تَتَوَلَّوْا۟make allies قَوْمًا(of) a people غَضِبَallahs wrath ٱللَّهُallahs wrath عَلَيْهِمْ(is) upon them قَدْindeed يَئِسُوا۟they despair مِنَof ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِthe hereafter كَمَاas يَئِسَdespair ٱلْكُفَّارُthe disbelievers مِنْof أَصْحَٰبِ(the) companions ٱلْقُبُورِ(of) the graves۝١٣ Āyah 13
