The Ascending Stairways
فَمَالِso what is with ٱلَّذِينَthose who كَفَرُوا۟disbelieve قِبَلَكَbefore you مُهْطِعِينَ(they) hasten٣٦ Āyah 36
عَنِon ٱلْيَمِينِthe right وَعَنِand on ٱلشِّمَالِthe left عِزِينَ(in) separate groups٣٧ Āyah 37
أَيَطْمَعُdoes long كُلُّevery ٱمْرِئٍperson مِّنْهُمْamong them أَنthat يُدْخَلَhe enters جَنَّةَa garden نَعِيمٍ(of) delight٣٨ Āyah 38
كَلَّآby no means إِنَّاindeed we خَلَقْنَٰهُم[we] have created them مِّمَّاfrom what يَعْلَمُونَthey know٣٩ Āyah 39
فَلَآbut nay أُقْسِمُi swear بِرَبِّby (the) lord ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ(of) the risings وَٱلْمَغَٰرِبِand the settings إِنَّاthat we لَقَٰدِرُونَ(are) surely able٤٠ Āyah 40
عَلَىٰٓ[on] أَنto نُّبَدِّلَ[we] replace خَيْرًا(with) better مِّنْهُمْthan them; وَمَاand not نَحْنُwe بِمَسْبُوقِينَ(are) to be outrun٤١ Āyah 41
فَذَرْهُمْso leave them يَخُوضُوا۟(to) converse vainly وَيَلْعَبُوا۟and amuse themselves حَتَّىٰuntil يُلَٰقُوا۟they meet يَوْمَهُمُtheir day ٱلَّذِىwhich يُوعَدُونَthey are promised٤٢ Āyah 42
يَوْمَ(the) day يَخْرُجُونَthey will come out مِنَfrom ٱلْأَجْدَاثِthe graves سِرَاعًاrapidly كَأَنَّهُمْas if they (were) إِلَىٰto نُصُبٍa goal يُوفِضُونَhastening٤٣ Āyah 43
خَٰشِعَةًhumbled أَبْصَٰرُهُمْtheir eyesights تَرْهَقُهُمْwill cover them ذِلَّةٌhumiliation ذَٰلِكَthat ٱلْيَوْمُ(is) the day ٱلَّذِىwhich كَانُوا۟they were يُوعَدُونَpromised٤٤ Āyah 44
