يونس

وَلَوْand if يُعَجِّلُallah (was) to hasten ٱللَّهُallah (was) to hasten لِلنَّاسِfor the mankind ٱلشَّرَّthe evil ٱسْتِعْجَالَهُم(as) he hastens for them بِٱلْخَيْرِthe good لَقُضِىَsurely would have been decreed إِلَيْهِمْfor them أَجَلُهُمْtheir term فَنَذَرُbut we leave ٱلَّذِينَthose who لَا(do) not يَرْجُونَexpect لِقَآءَنَاthe meeting with us فِىin طُغْيَٰنِهِمْtheir transgression يَعْمَهُونَwandering blindly۝١١ Āyah 11

وَإِذَاand when مَسَّtouches ٱلْإِنسَٰنَthe man ٱلضُّرُّthe affliction دَعَانَاhe calls us لِجَنۢبِهِۦٓ(lying) on his side أَوْor قَاعِدًاsitting أَوْor قَآئِمًاstanding فَلَمَّاbut when كَشَفْنَاwe remove عَنْهُfrom ضُرَّهُۥhis affliction مَرَّhe passes on كَأَنas if he لَّمْ(had) not يَدْعُنَآcalled us إِلَىٰfor ضُرٍّ(the) affliction مَّسَّهُۥ(that) touched him كَذَٰلِكَthus زُيِّنَ(it) is made fair seeming لِلْمُسْرِفِينَto the extravagant مَاwhat كَانُوا۟they used (to) يَعْمَلُونَdo۝١٢ Āyah 12

وَلَقَدْand verily أَهْلَكْنَاwe destroyed ٱلْقُرُونَthe generations مِنbefore you قَبْلِكُمْbefore you لَمَّاwhen ظَلَمُوا۟they wronged وَجَآءَتْهُمْand came to them رُسُلُهُمtheir messengers بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِwith clear proofs وَمَاbut not كَانُوا۟they were لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟to believe كَذَٰلِكَthus نَجْزِىwe recompense ٱلْقَوْمَthe people ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ(who are) criminals۝١٣ Āyah 13

ثُمَّthen جَعَلْنَٰكُمْwe made you خَلَٰٓئِفَsuccessors فِىin ٱلْأَرْضِthe earth مِنۢafter them بَعْدِهِمْafter them لِنَنظُرَso that we may see كَيْفَhow تَعْمَلُونَyou do۝١٤ Āyah 14

وَإِذَاand when تُتْلَىٰare recited عَلَيْهِمْto them ءَايَاتُنَاour verses بَيِّنَٰتٍ(as) clear proofs قَالَsaid ٱلَّذِينَthose who لَا(do) not يَرْجُونَhope لِقَآءَنَا(for the) meeting (with) us ٱئْتِbring us بِقُرْءَانٍa quran غَيْرِother (than) هَٰذَآthis أَوْor بَدِّلْهُchange it قُلْsay مَاnot يَكُونُ(it) is لِىٓfor me أَنْthat أُبَدِّلَهُۥi change it مِنof تِلْقَآئِmy own accord نَفْسِىٓmy own accord إِنْnot أَتَّبِعُi follow إِلَّاexcept مَاwhat يُوحَىٰٓis revealed إِلَىَّto me إِنِّىٓindeed i أَخَافُ[i] fear إِنْif عَصَيْتُi were to disobey رَبِّىmy lord عَذَابَ(the) punishment يَوْمٍ(of) a great day عَظِيمٍ(of) a great day۝١٥ Āyah 15

قُلsay لَّوْif شَآءَallah (had) willed ٱللَّهُallah (had) willed مَاnot تَلَوْتُهُۥi (would) have recited it عَلَيْكُمْto you وَلَآand not أَدْرَىٰكُمhe (would) have made it known to you بِهِۦhe (would) have made it known to you فَقَدْverily لَبِثْتُi have stayed فِيكُمْamong you عُمُرًاa lifetime مِّنbefore it قَبْلِهِۦٓbefore it أَفَلَاthen will not تَعْقِلُونَyou use reason۝١٦ Āyah 16

فَمَنْso who أَظْلَمُ(is) more wrong مِمَّنِthan he who ٱفْتَرَىٰinvents عَلَىagainst ٱللَّهِallah كَذِبًاa lie أَوْor كَذَّبَdenies بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓhis signs إِنَّهُۥindeed لَاnot يُفْلِحُwill succeed ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَthe criminals۝١٧ Āyah 17

وَيَعْبُدُونَand they worship مِنother than allah دُونِother than allah ٱللَّهِother than allah مَاthat (which) لَا(does) not يَضُرُّهُمْharm them وَلَاand not يَنفَعُهُمْbenefit them وَيَقُولُونَand they say هَٰٓؤُلَآءِthese شُفَعَٰٓؤُنَا(are) our intercessors عِندَwith ٱللَّهِallah قُلْsay أَتُنَبِّـُٔونَdo you inform ٱللَّهَallah بِمَاof what لَاhe does not know يَعْلَمُhe does not know فِىin ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavens وَلَاand not فِىin ٱلْأَرْضِthe earth سُبْحَٰنَهُۥglorified is he وَتَعَٰلَىٰand exalted عَمَّاabove what يُشْرِكُونَthey associate (with him)۝١٨ Āyah 18

وَمَاand not كَانَwas ٱلنَّاسُthe mankind إِلَّآbut أُمَّةًone community وَٰحِدَةًone community فَٱخْتَلَفُوا۟then they differed وَلَوْلَاand had (it) not been كَلِمَةٌa word سَبَقَتْ(that) preceded مِنfrom رَّبِّكَyour lord لَقُضِىَsurely it (would) have been judged بَيْنَهُمْbetween them فِيمَاconcerning what فِيهِ[therein] يَخْتَلِفُونَthey differ۝١٩ Āyah 19

وَيَقُولُونَand they say لَوْلَآwhy not أُنزِلَis sent down عَلَيْهِto him ءَايَةٌa sign مِّنfrom رَّبِّهِۦhis lord فَقُلْso say إِنَّمَاonly ٱلْغَيْبُthe unseen لِلَّهِ(is) for allah فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟so wait; إِنِّىindeed i am مَعَكُمwith you مِّنَamong ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَthe ones who wait۝٢٠ Āyah 20
