وَلَقَدْand certainly جَآءَتْcame رُسُلُنَآour إِبْرَٰهِيمَ(to) ibrahim بِٱلْبُشْرَىٰwith glad tidings قَالُوا۟they said سَلَٰمًاpeace قَالَhe said سَلَٰمٌpeace فَمَاand not he delayed لَبِثَand not he delayed أَنto جَآءَbring بِعِجْلٍa calf حَنِيذٍroasted۝٦٩ Āyah 69

فَلَمَّاbut when رَءَآhe saw أَيْدِيَهُمْtheir hands لَاnot تَصِلُreaching إِلَيْهِto it نَكِرَهُمْhe felt unfamiliar of them وَأَوْجَسَand felt apprehension مِنْهُمْfrom them خِيفَةً[a fear] قَالُوا۟they said لَا(do) not تَخَفْfear إِنَّآindeed we أُرْسِلْنَآ[we] have been sent إِلَىٰto قَوْمِ(the) people لُوطٍ(of) lut۝٧٠ Āyah 70

وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥand his wife قَآئِمَةٌ(was) standing فَضَحِكَتْand she laughed فَبَشَّرْنَٰهَاthen we gave her glad tidings بِإِسْحَٰقَof ishaq وَمِنand after وَرَآءِand after إِسْحَٰقَishaq يَعْقُوبَ(of) yaqub۝٧١ Āyah 71

قَالَتْshe said يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓwoe to me ءَأَلِدُshall i bear a child وَأَنَا۠while i am عَجُوزٌan old woman وَهَٰذَاand this بَعْلِىmy husband شَيْخًا(is) an old man إِنَّindeed هَٰذَاthis لَشَىْءٌ(is) surely a thing عَجِيبٌamazing۝٧٢ Āyah 72

قَالُوٓا۟they said أَتَعْجَبِينَare you amazed مِنْat أَمْرِ(the) decree of allah ٱللَّهِ(the) decree of allah رَحْمَتُthe mercy of allah ٱللَّهِthe mercy of allah وَبَرَكَٰتُهُۥand his blessings عَلَيْكُمْ(be) upon you أَهْلَpeople ٱلْبَيْتِ(of) the house إِنَّهُۥindeed he حَمِيدٌ(is) all praiseworthy مَّجِيدٌall glorious۝٧٣ Āyah 73

فَلَمَّاand when ذَهَبَ(had) gone away عَنْfrom إِبْرَٰهِيمَibrahim ٱلرَّوْعُthe fright وَجَآءَتْهُand had reached him ٱلْبُشْرَىٰthe glad tidings يُجَٰدِلُنَاhe argued with us فِىconcerning قَوْمِthe people لُوطٍof lut۝٧٤ Āyah 74

إِنَّindeed إِبْرَٰهِيمَibrahim لَحَلِيمٌ(was) certainly forbearing أَوَّٰهٌimploring مُّنِيبٌand oft returning۝٧٥ Āyah 75

يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُo ibrahim أَعْرِضْturn away عَنْfrom هَٰذَآthis إِنَّهُۥindeed it قَدْcertainly جَآءَhas come أَمْرُ(the) command رَبِّكَ(of) your lord وَإِنَّهُمْand indeed [they] ءَاتِيهِمْ(will) come (for) them عَذَابٌa punishment غَيْرُ(which) cannot مَرْدُودٍ(be) repelled۝٧٦ Āyah 76

وَلَمَّاand when جَآءَتْcame رُسُلُنَاour لُوطًا(to) lut سِىٓءَhe was distressed بِهِمْfor them وَضَاقَand felt straitened بِهِمْfor them ذَرْعًا(and) uneasy وَقَالَand said هَٰذَاthis يَوْمٌ(is) a day عَصِيبٌdistressful۝٧٧ Āyah 77

وَجَآءَهُۥand came (to) him قَوْمُهُۥhis people يُهْرَعُونَrushing إِلَيْهِto him وَمِنand before قَبْلُand before كَانُوا۟they (had) been يَعْمَلُونَdoing ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِthe evil deeds قَالَhe said يَٰقَوْمِo my people هَٰٓؤُلَآءِthese بَنَاتِى(are) my daughters هُنَّthey أَطْهَرُ(are) purer لَكُمْfor you فَٱتَّقُوا۟so fear ٱللَّهَallah وَلَاand (do) not تُخْزُونِdisgrace me فِىconcerning ضَيْفِىٓmy guests أَلَيْسَis (there) not مِنكُمْamong you رَجُلٌa man رَّشِيدٌright minded۝٧٨ Āyah 78

قَالُوا۟they said لَقَدْverily عَلِمْتَyou know مَا(that) not لَنَاwe have فِىconcerning بَنَاتِكَyour daughters مِنْany حَقٍّright وَإِنَّكَand indeed you لَتَعْلَمُsurely know مَاwhat نُرِيدُwe want۝٧٩ Āyah 79

قَالَhe said لَوْif أَنَّthat لِىi had بِكُمْover you قُوَّةًpower أَوْor ءَاوِىٓi could take refuge إِلَىٰin رُكْنٍa support شَدِيدٍstrong۝٨٠ Āyah 80

قَالُوا۟they said يَٰلُوطُo lut إِنَّاindeed we رُسُلُ(are) messengers رَبِّكَ(of) your lord لَنnever يَصِلُوٓا۟they will reach إِلَيْكَyou فَأَسْرِso travel بِأَهْلِكَwith your family بِقِطْعٍin a part مِّنَof ٱلَّيْلِthe night وَلَاand (let) not يَلْتَفِتْlook back مِنكُمْanyone of you أَحَدٌanyone of you إِلَّاexcept ٱمْرَأَتَكَyour wife إِنَّهُۥindeed it مُصِيبُهَاwill strike her مَآwhat أَصَابَهُمْwill strike them إِنَّindeed مَوْعِدَهُمُtheir appointed time ٱلصُّبْحُ(is) morning أَلَيْسَis not ٱلصُّبْحُthe morning بِقَرِيبٍnear۝٨١ Āyah 81

فَلَمَّاso when جَآءَcame أَمْرُنَاour command جَعَلْنَاwe made عَٰلِيَهَاits upside سَافِلَهَاits downside وَأَمْطَرْنَاand we rained عَلَيْهَاupon them حِجَارَةًstones مِّنof سِجِّيلٍbaked clay مَّنضُودٍ(in) layers۝٨٢ Āyah 82

مُّسَوَّمَةًmarked عِندَfrom رَبِّكَyour lord وَمَاand not هِىَit مِنَ(is) from ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers بِبَعِيدٍfar۝٨٣ Āyah 83
