الكهف

بِسْمِin (the) name ٱللَّهِ(of) allah ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِthe most gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِthe most merciful

ٱلْحَمْدُall praise لِلَّهِ(is) for allah ٱلَّذِىٓthe one who أَنزَلَ(has) revealed عَلَىٰto عَبْدِهِhis slave ٱلْكِتَٰبَthe book وَلَمْand not يَجْعَل(has) made لَّهُۥin it عِوَجَاany crookedness۝١ Āyah 1

قَيِّمًاstraight لِّيُنذِرَto warn بَأْسًا(of) a punishment شَدِيدًاsevere مِّنfrom لَّدُنْهُnear him وَيُبَشِّرَand give glad tidings ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ(to) the believers ٱلَّذِينَthose who يَعْمَلُونَdo ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deeds أَنَّthat لَهُمْfor them أَجْرًا(is) a good reward حَسَنًا(is) a good reward۝٢ Āyah 2

مَّٰكِثِينَ(they will) abide فِيهِin it أَبَدًاforever۝٣ Āyah 3

وَيُنذِرَand to warn ٱلَّذِينَthose who قَالُوا۟say ٱتَّخَذَallah has taken ٱللَّهُallah has taken وَلَدًاa son۝٤ Āyah 4

مَّاnot لَهُمthey have بِهِۦabout it مِنْany عِلْمٍknowledge وَلَاand not لِـَٔابَآئِهِمْtheir forefathers كَبُرَتْmighty (is) كَلِمَةًthe word تَخْرُجُ(that) comes out مِنْof أَفْوَٰهِهِمْtheir mouths إِنnot يَقُولُونَthey say إِلَّاexcept كَذِبًاa lie۝٥ Āyah 5

فَلَعَلَّكَthen perhaps you would (be) بَٰخِعٌthe one who kills نَّفْسَكَyourself عَلَىٰٓover ءَاثَٰرِهِمْtheir footsteps إِنif لَّمْnot يُؤْمِنُوا۟they believe بِهَٰذَاin this ٱلْحَدِيثِ[the] narration أَسَفًا(in) grief۝٦ Āyah 6

إِنَّاindeed we جَعَلْنَاwe have made مَاwhat عَلَى(is) on ٱلْأَرْضِthe earth زِينَةًadornment لَّهَاfor it لِنَبْلُوَهُمْthat we may test [them] أَيُّهُمْwhich of them أَحْسَنُ(is) best عَمَلًا(in) deed۝٧ Āyah 7

وَإِنَّاand indeed we لَجَٰعِلُونَ(will) surely make مَاwhat عَلَيْهَا(is) on it صَعِيدًاsoil جُرُزًاbarren۝٨ Āyah 8

أَمْor حَسِبْتَyou think أَنَّthat أَصْحَٰبَ(the) companions ٱلْكَهْفِ(of) the cave وَٱلرَّقِيمِand the inscription كَانُوا۟were مِنْamong ءَايَٰتِنَاour signs عَجَبًاa wonder۝٩ Āyah 9

إِذْwhen أَوَىretreated ٱلْفِتْيَةُthe youths إِلَىto ٱلْكَهْفِthe cave فَقَالُوا۟and they said رَبَّنَآour lord ءَاتِنَاgrant us مِنfrom لَّدُنكَyourself رَحْمَةًmercy وَهَيِّئْand facilitate لَنَاfor us مِنْ[from] أَمْرِنَاour affair رَشَدًا(in the) right way۝١٠ Āyah 10

فَضَرَبْنَاso we cast عَلَىٰٓover ءَاذَانِهِمْtheir ears فِىin ٱلْكَهْفِthe cave سِنِينَyears عَدَدًاa number۝١١ Āyah 11

ثُمَّthen بَعَثْنَٰهُمْwe raised them up لِنَعْلَمَthat we make evident أَىُّwhich ٱلْحِزْبَيْنِ(of) the two parties أَحْصَىٰbest calculated لِمَاfor what لَبِثُوٓا۟(they had) remained أَمَدًا(in) time۝١٢ Āyah 12
