الكهف

وَإِذْand when قَالَsaid مُوسَىٰmusa لِفَتَىٰهُto his boy لَآnot أَبْرَحُi will cease حَتَّىٰٓuntil أَبْلُغَi reach مَجْمَعَthe junction ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ(of) the two seas أَوْor أَمْضِىَi continue حُقُبًا(for) a long period۝٦٠ Āyah 60

فَلَمَّاbut when بَلَغَاthey reached مَجْمَعَthe junction بَيْنِهِمَاbetween them نَسِيَاthey forgot حُوتَهُمَاtheir fish فَٱتَّخَذَand it took سَبِيلَهُۥits way فِىinto ٱلْبَحْرِthe sea سَرَبًاslipping away۝٦١ Āyah 61

فَلَمَّاthen when جَاوَزَاthey had passed beyond قَالَhe said لِفَتَىٰهُto his boy ءَاتِنَاbring us غَدَآءَنَاour morning meal لَقَدْcertainly لَقِينَاwe have suffered مِنin سَفَرِنَاour journey هَٰذَاthis نَصَبًاfatigue۝٦٢ Āyah 62

قَالَhe said أَرَءَيْتَdid you see إِذْwhen أَوَيْنَآwe retired إِلَىto ٱلصَّخْرَةِthe rock فَإِنِّىthen indeed i نَسِيتُ[i] forgot ٱلْحُوتَthe fish وَمَآand not أَنسَىٰنِيهُmade me forget it إِلَّاexcept ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُthe shaitaan أَنْthat أَذْكُرَهُۥi mention it وَٱتَّخَذَand it took سَبِيلَهُۥits way فِىinto ٱلْبَحْرِthe sea عَجَبًاamazingly۝٦٣ Āyah 63

قَالَhe said ذَٰلِكَthat مَا(is) what كُنَّاwe were نَبْغِseeking فَٱرْتَدَّاso they returned عَلَىٰٓon ءَاثَارِهِمَاtheir footprints قَصَصًاretracing۝٦٤ Āyah 64

فَوَجَدَاthen they found عَبْدًاa servant مِّنْfrom عِبَادِنَآour servants ءَاتَيْنَٰهُwhom we had given رَحْمَةًmercy مِّنْfrom عِندِنَاus وَعَلَّمْنَٰهُand we had taught him مِنfrom لَّدُنَّاus عِلْمًاa knowledge۝٦٥ Āyah 65

قَالَsaid لَهُۥto him مُوسَىٰmusa هَلْmay أَتَّبِعُكَi follow you عَلَىٰٓon أَنthat تُعَلِّمَنِyou teach me مِمَّاof what عُلِّمْتَyou have been taught رُشْدًا(of) right guidance۝٦٦ Āyah 66

قَالَhe said إِنَّكَindeed you لَنnever تَسْتَطِيعَwill be able مَعِىَwith me صَبْرًا(to have) patience۝٦٧ Āyah 67

وَكَيْفَand how can تَصْبِرُyou have patience عَلَىٰfor مَاwhat لَمْnot تُحِطْyou encompass بِهِۦof it خُبْرًاany knowledge۝٦٨ Āyah 68

قَالَhe said سَتَجِدُنِىٓyou will find me إِنif شَآءَallah wills ٱللَّهُallah wills صَابِرًاpatient وَلَآand not أَعْصِىi will disobey لَكَyour أَمْرًاorder۝٦٩ Āyah 69

قَالَhe said فَإِنِthen if ٱتَّبَعْتَنِىyou follow فَلَا(do) not تَسْـَٔلْنِىask me عَنabout شَىْءٍanything حَتَّىٰٓuntil أُحْدِثَi present لَكَto you مِنْهُof it ذِكْرًاa mention۝٧٠ Āyah 70
