مريم

وَٱذْكُرْand mention فِىin ٱلْكِتَٰبِthe book إِبْرَٰهِيمَibrahim إِنَّهُۥindeed he كَانَwas صِدِّيقًاa man of truth نَّبِيًّاa prophet۝٤١ Āyah 41

إِذْwhen قَالَhe said لِأَبِيهِto his father يَٰٓأَبَتِo my father لِمَwhy تَعْبُدُ(do) you worship مَاthat which لَاnot يَسْمَعُhears وَلَاand not يُبْصِرُsees وَلَاand not يُغْنِىbenefits عَنكَ[to] you شَيْـًٔا(in) anything۝٤٢ Āyah 42

يَٰٓأَبَتِo my father إِنِّىindeed [i] قَدْverily جَآءَنِى(has) come to me مِنَof ٱلْعِلْمِthe knowledge مَاwhat لَمْnot يَأْتِكَcame to you فَٱتَّبِعْنِىٓso follow أَهْدِكَi will guide you صِرَٰطًا(to) the path سَوِيًّاeven۝٤٣ Āyah 43

يَٰٓأَبَتِo my father لَا(do) not تَعْبُدِworship ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَthe shaitaan إِنَّindeed ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَthe shaitaan كَانَis لِلرَّحْمَٰنِto the most gracious عَصِيًّاdisobedient۝٤٤ Āyah 44

يَٰٓأَبَتِo my father إِنِّىٓindeed i أَخَافُ[i] fear أَنthat يَمَسَّكَwill touch you عَذَابٌa punishment مِّنَfrom ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِthe most gracious فَتَكُونَso you would be لِلشَّيْطَٰنِto the shaitaan وَلِيًّاa friend۝٤٥ Āyah 45

قَالَhe said أَرَاغِبٌdo you hate أَنتَdo you hate عَنْ(from) ءَالِهَتِىmy gods يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُo ibrahim لَئِنsurely if لَّمْnot تَنتَهِyou desist لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَsurely i will stone you وَٱهْجُرْنِىso leave me مَلِيًّا(for) a prolonged time۝٤٦ Āyah 46

قَالَhe said سَلَٰمٌpeace (be) عَلَيْكَon you سَأَسْتَغْفِرُi will ask forgiveness لَكَfor you رَبِّىٓ(from) my lord إِنَّهُۥindeed he كَانَis بِىto me حَفِيًّاever gracious۝٤٧ Āyah 47

وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْand i will leave you وَمَاand what تَدْعُونَyou invoke مِنbesides دُونِbesides ٱللَّهِallah وَأَدْعُوا۟and i will invoke رَبِّىmy lord عَسَىٰٓmay be أَلَّآthat not أَكُونَi will be بِدُعَآءِin invocation رَبِّى(to) my lord شَقِيًّاunblessed۝٤٨ Āyah 48

فَلَمَّاso when ٱعْتَزَلَهُمْhe left them وَمَاand what يَعْبُدُونَthey worshipped مِنbesides allah دُونِbesides allah ٱللَّهِbesides allah وَهَبْنَا[and] we bestowed لَهُۥٓ[to] him إِسْحَٰقَishaq وَيَعْقُوبَand yaqub وَكُلًّاand each (of them) جَعَلْنَاwe made نَبِيًّاa prophet۝٤٩ Āyah 49

وَوَهَبْنَاand we bestowed لَهُمto them مِّنof رَّحْمَتِنَاour mercy وَجَعَلْنَاand we made لَهُمْfor them لِسَانَa truthful mention صِدْقٍa truthful mention عَلِيًّاhigh۝٥٠ Āyah 50
