المؤمنون

وَقَالَand said ٱلْمَلَأُthe chiefs مِنof قَوْمِهِhis people ٱلَّذِينَwho كَفَرُوا۟disbelieved وَكَذَّبُوا۟and denied بِلِقَآءِ(the) meeting ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ(of) the hereafter وَأَتْرَفْنَٰهُمْwhile we had given them فِىin ٱلْحَيَوٰةِthe life ٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the world مَاnot هَٰذَآ(is) this إِلَّاbut بَشَرٌa man مِّثْلُكُمْlike you يَأْكُلُhe eats مِمَّاof what تَأْكُلُونَyou eat مِنْهُ[from it] وَيَشْرَبُand he drinks مِمَّاof what تَشْرَبُونَyou drink۝٣٣ Āyah 33

وَلَئِنْand surely if أَطَعْتُمyou obey بَشَرًاa man مِّثْلَكُمْlike you إِنَّكُمْindeed you إِذًاthen لَّخَٰسِرُونَsurely (will be) losers۝٣٤ Āyah 34

أَيَعِدُكُمْdoes he promise you أَنَّكُمْthat you إِذَاwhen مِتُّمْyou are dead وَكُنتُمْand you become تُرَابًاdust وَعِظَٰمًاand bones أَنَّكُمthat you مُّخْرَجُونَ(will be) brought forth۝٣٥ Āyah 35

هَيْهَاتَfar (fetched) هَيْهَاتَfar (fetched) لِمَاis what تُوعَدُونَyou are promised۝٣٦ Āyah 36

إِنْnot هِىَit إِلَّا(is) but حَيَاتُنَاour life ٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the world نَمُوتُwe die وَنَحْيَاand we live وَمَاand not نَحْنُwe بِمَبْعُوثِينَ(will be) resurrected۝٣٧ Āyah 37

إِنْnot هُوَ(is) he إِلَّاbut رَجُلٌa man ٱفْتَرَىٰwho (has) invented عَلَىabout ٱللَّهِallah كَذِبًاa lie وَمَاand not نَحْنُwe لَهُۥ(in) him بِمُؤْمِنِينَ(are) believers۝٣٨ Āyah 38

قَالَhe said رَبِّmy lord ٱنصُرْنِىhelp me بِمَاbecause كَذَّبُونِthey deny me۝٣٩ Āyah 39

قَالَhe said عَمَّاafter a little while قَلِيلٍafter a little while لَّيُصْبِحُنَّsurely they will become نَٰدِمِينَregretful۝٤٠ Āyah 40

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُso seized them ٱلصَّيْحَةُthe awful cry بِٱلْحَقِّin truth فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْand we made them غُثَآءً(as) rubbish of dead leaves فَبُعْدًاso away لِّلْقَوْمِwith the people ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers۝٤١ Āyah 41

ثُمَّthen أَنشَأْنَاwe produced مِنۢafter them بَعْدِهِمْafter them قُرُونًاa generation ءَاخَرِينَanother۝٤٢ Āyah 42

مَاnot تَسْبِقُcan precede مِنْany أُمَّةٍnation أَجَلَهَاits term وَمَاand not يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَthey (can) delay (it)۝٤٣ Āyah 43

ثُمَّthen أَرْسَلْنَاwe sent رُسُلَنَاour messengers تَتْرَا(in) succession كُلَّ مَاevery time جَآءَevery time أُمَّةًcame رَّسُولُهَا(to) a nation كَذَّبُوهُits messenger فَأَتْبَعْنَاthey denied him بَعْضَهُمso we made (them) follow بَعْضًاsome of them وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْothers أَحَادِيثَand we made them فَبُعْدًاnarrations لِّقَوْمٍso away لَّاwith a people يُؤْمِنُونَnot۝٤٤ Āyah 44

ثُمَّthen أَرْسَلْنَاwe sent مُوسَىٰmusa وَأَخَاهُand his brother هَٰرُونَharun بِـَٔايَٰتِنَاwith our signs وَسُلْطَٰنٍand an authority مُّبِينٍclear۝٤٥ Āyah 45

إِلَىٰto فِرْعَوْنَfiraun وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦand his chiefs فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟but they behaved arrogantly وَكَانُوا۟and they were قَوْمًاa people عَالِينَhaughty۝٤٦ Āyah 46

فَقَالُوٓا۟then they said أَنُؤْمِنُshall we believe لِبَشَرَيْنِ(in) two men مِثْلِنَاlike ourselves وَقَوْمُهُمَاwhile their people لَنَاfor us عَٰبِدُونَ(are) slaves۝٤٧ Āyah 47

فَكَذَّبُوهُمَاso they denied them فَكَانُوا۟and they became مِنَof ٱلْمُهْلَكِينَthose who were destroyed۝٤٨ Āyah 48

وَلَقَدْand verily ءَاتَيْنَاwe gave مُوسَىmusa ٱلْكِتَٰبَthe scripture لَعَلَّهُمْso that they may يَهْتَدُونَbe guided۝٤٩ Āyah 49

وَجَعَلْنَاand we made ٱبْنَ(the) son مَرْيَمَ(of) maryam وَأُمَّهُۥٓand his mother ءَايَةًa sign وَءَاوَيْنَٰهُمَآand we sheltered them إِلَىٰto رَبْوَةٍa high ground ذَاتِof tranquility قَرَارٍof tranquility وَمَعِينٍand water springs۝٥٠ Āyah 50
