النور

بِسْمِin (the) name ٱللَّهِ(of) allah ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِthe most gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِthe most merciful

سُورَةٌa surah أَنزَلْنَٰهَاwe (have) sent it down وَفَرَضْنَٰهَاand we (have) made it obligatory وَأَنزَلْنَاand فِيهَآtherein ءَايَٰتٍۭverses بَيِّنَٰتٍclear لَّعَلَّكُمْso that you may تَذَكَّرُونَtake heed۝١ Āyah 1

ٱلزَّانِيَةُthe fornicatress وَٱلزَّانِىand the fornicator فَٱجْلِدُوا۟[then] flog كُلَّeach وَٰحِدٍone مِّنْهُمَاof them مِا۟ئَةَ(with) hundred جَلْدَةٍlash(es) وَلَاand (let) not تَأْخُذْكُمwithhold you بِهِمَاpity for them رَأْفَةٌpity for them فِىconcerning دِينِ(the) religion of allah ٱللَّهِ(the) religion of allah إِنif كُنتُمْyou تُؤْمِنُونَbelieve بِٱللَّهِin allah وَٱلْيَوْمِand the day ٱلْـَٔاخِرِthe last وَلْيَشْهَدْand let witness عَذَابَهُمَاtheir punishment طَآئِفَةٌa group مِّنَof ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers۝٢ Āyah 2

ٱلزَّانِىthe fornicator لَا(will) not يَنكِحُmarry إِلَّاexcept زَانِيَةًa fornicatress أَوْor مُشْرِكَةًa polytheist woman وَٱلزَّانِيَةُand the fornicatress لَا(will) not يَنكِحُهَآmarry her إِلَّاexcept زَانٍa fornicator أَوْor مُشْرِكٌa polytheist man وَحُرِّمَand is forbidden ذَٰلِكَthat عَلَىto ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers۝٣ Āyah 3

وَٱلَّذِينَand those who يَرْمُونَaccuse ٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتِthe chaste women ثُمَّthen لَمْnot يَأْتُوا۟they bring بِأَرْبَعَةِfour شُهَدَآءَwitnesses فَٱجْلِدُوهُمْthen flog them ثَمَٰنِينَ(with) eighty جَلْدَةًlashe(s) وَلَاand (do) not تَقْبَلُوا۟accept لَهُمْtheir شَهَٰدَةًtestimony أَبَدًاever وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَand those هُمُthey ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ(are) the defiantly disobedient۝٤ Āyah 4

إِلَّاexcept ٱلَّذِينَthose who تَابُوا۟repent مِنۢafter بَعْدِafter ذَٰلِكَthat وَأَصْلَحُوا۟and reform فَإِنَّthen indeed ٱللَّهَallah غَفُورٌ(is) oft forgiving رَّحِيمٌmost merciful۝٥ Āyah 5

وَٱلَّذِينَand those who يَرْمُونَaccuse أَزْوَٰجَهُمْtheir spouses وَلَمْand not يَكُنhave لَّهُمْfor them شُهَدَآءُwitnesses إِلَّآexcept أَنفُسُهُمْthemselves فَشَهَٰدَةُthen (the) testimony أَحَدِهِمْ(of) one of them أَرْبَعُ(is) four شَهَٰدَٰتٍۭtestimonies بِٱللَّهِby allah إِنَّهُۥthat he لَمِنَ(is) surely of ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَthe truthful۝٦ Āyah 6

وَٱلْخَٰمِسَةُand the fifth أَنَّthat لَعْنَتَ(the) curse of allah ٱللَّهِ(the) curse of allah عَلَيْهِ(be) upon him إِنif كَانَhe is مِنَof ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَthe liars۝٧ Āyah 7

وَيَدْرَؤُا۟but it would prevent عَنْهَاfrom her ٱلْعَذَابَthe punishment أَنthat تَشْهَدَshe bears witness أَرْبَعَfour شَهَٰدَٰتٍۭtestimonies بِٱللَّهِby allah إِنَّهُۥthat he لَمِنَ(is) surely of ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَthe liars۝٨ Āyah 8

وَٱلْخَٰمِسَةَand the fifth أَنَّthat غَضَبَthe wrath of allah ٱللَّهِthe wrath of allah عَلَيْهَآ(be) upon her إِنif كَانَhe is مِنَof ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَthe truthful۝٩ Āyah 9

وَلَوْلَاand if not فَضْلُ(for) the grace of allah ٱللَّهِ(for) the grace of allah عَلَيْكُمْupon you وَرَحْمَتُهُۥand his mercy وَأَنَّand that ٱللَّهَallah تَوَّابٌ(is) oft returning (to mercy) حَكِيمٌall wise۝١٠ Āyah 10
