النمل

وَلَقَدْand verily ءَاتَيْنَاwe gave دَاوُۥدَdawood وَسُلَيْمَٰنَand sulaiman عِلْمًاknowledge وَقَالَاand they said ٱلْحَمْدُpraise be لِلَّهِto allah ٱلَّذِىthe one who فَضَّلَنَاhas favored us عَلَىٰover كَثِيرٍmany مِّنْof عِبَادِهِhis ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers۝١٥ Āyah 15

وَوَرِثَand inherited سُلَيْمَٰنُsulaiman دَاوُۥدَdawood وَقَالَand he said يَٰٓأَيُّهَاo ٱلنَّاسُpeople عُلِّمْنَاwe have been taught مَنطِقَ(the) language ٱلطَّيْرِ(of) the birds وَأُوتِينَاand we have been مِنfrom كُلِّevery شَىْءٍthing إِنَّindeed هَٰذَاthis لَهُوَsurely it ٱلْفَضْلُ(is) the favor ٱلْمُبِينُevident۝١٦ Āyah 16

وَحُشِرَand were gathered لِسُلَيْمَٰنَfor sulaiman جُنُودُهُۥhis hosts مِنَof ٱلْجِنِّjinn وَٱلْإِنسِand the men وَٱلطَّيْرِand the birds فَهُمْand they يُوزَعُونَ(were) set in rows۝١٧ Āyah 17

حَتَّىٰٓuntil إِذَآwhen أَتَوْا۟they came عَلَىٰto وَادِ(the) valley ٱلنَّمْلِ(of) the ants قَالَتْsaid نَمْلَةٌan ant يَٰٓأَيُّهَاo ٱلنَّمْلُants ٱدْخُلُوا۟enter مَسَٰكِنَكُمْyour dwellings لَاlest not crush you يَحْطِمَنَّكُمْlest not crush you سُلَيْمَٰنُsulaiman وَجُنُودُهُۥand his hosts وَهُمْwhile they لَا(do) not perceive يَشْعُرُونَ(do) not perceive۝١٨ Āyah 18

فَتَبَسَّمَso he smiled ضَاحِكًاlaughing مِّنat قَوْلِهَاher speech وَقَالَand said رَبِّmy lord أَوْزِعْنِىٓgrant me (the) power أَنْthat أَشْكُرَi may thank you نِعْمَتَكَ(for) your favor ٱلَّتِىٓwhich أَنْعَمْتَyou have bestowed عَلَىَّon me وَعَلَىٰand on وَٰلِدَىَّmy parents وَأَنْand that أَعْمَلَi may do صَٰلِحًاrighteous (deeds) تَرْضَىٰهُthat will please you وَأَدْخِلْنِىand admit me بِرَحْمَتِكَby your mercy فِىamong عِبَادِكَyour slaves ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَrighteous۝١٩ Āyah 19

وَتَفَقَّدَand he inspected ٱلطَّيْرَthe birds فَقَالَand said مَاwhy لِىَwhy لَآnot أَرَىi see ٱلْهُدْهُدَthe hoopoe أَمْor كَانَis he مِنَfrom ٱلْغَآئِبِينَthe absent۝٢٠ Āyah 20

لَأُعَذِّبَنَّهُۥi will surely punish him عَذَابًا(with) a punishment شَدِيدًاsevere أَوْor لَأَا۟ذْبَحَنَّهُۥٓi will surely slaughter him أَوْunless لَيَأْتِيَنِّىhe brings me بِسُلْطَٰنٍa reason مُّبِينٍclear۝٢١ Āyah 21

فَمَكَثَso he stayed غَيْرَnot بَعِيدٍlong فَقَالَand he said أَحَطتُi have encompassed بِمَاthat which لَمْnot تُحِطْyou have encompassed بِهِۦit وَجِئْتُكَand i have come to you مِنfrom سَبَإٍۭsaba بِنَبَإٍwith news يَقِينٍcertain۝٢٢ Āyah 22

إِنِّىindeed i وَجَدتُّfound ٱمْرَأَةًa woman تَمْلِكُهُمْruling them وَأُوتِيَتْand she has been given مِنof كُلِّevery شَىْءٍthing وَلَهَاand for her عَرْشٌ(is) a throne عَظِيمٌgreat۝٢٣ Āyah 23

وَجَدتُّهَاand i found her وَقَوْمَهَاand her people يَسْجُدُونَprostrating لِلشَّمْسِto the sun مِنinstead of allah دُونِinstead of allah ٱللَّهِinstead of allah وَزَيَّنَand has made fair seeming لَهُمُto them ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُthe shaitaan أَعْمَٰلَهُمْtheir deeds فَصَدَّهُمْand averted them عَنِfrom ٱلسَّبِيلِthe way فَهُمْso they لَا(are) not يَهْتَدُونَguided۝٢٤ Āyah 24

أَلَّاthat not يَسْجُدُوا۟they prostrate لِلَّهِto allah ٱلَّذِىthe one who يُخْرِجُbrings forth ٱلْخَبْءَthe hidden فِىin ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِand the earth وَيَعْلَمُand knows مَاwhat تُخْفُونَyou conceal وَمَاand what تُعْلِنُونَyou declare۝٢٥ Āyah 25

ٱللَّهُallah لَآ(there is) no إِلَٰهَgod إِلَّاbut هُوَhe رَبُّ(the) lord ٱلْعَرْشِ(of) the throne ٱلْعَظِيمِthe great۝٢٦ Āyah 26

قَالَhe said سَنَنظُرُwe will see أَصَدَقْتَwhether you speak (the) truth أَمْor كُنتَyou are مِنَof ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَthe liars۝٢٧ Āyah 27

ٱذْهَبgo بِّكِتَٰبِىwith my letter هَٰذَاthis فَأَلْقِهْand deliver it إِلَيْهِمْto them ثُمَّthen تَوَلَّturn away عَنْهُمْfrom them فَٱنظُرْand see مَاذَاwhat يَرْجِعُونَthey return۝٢٨ Āyah 28

قَالَتْshe said يَٰٓأَيُّهَاo ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟chiefs إِنِّىٓindeed [i] أُلْقِىَis delivered إِلَىَّto me كِتَٰبٌa letter كَرِيمٌnoble۝٢٩ Āyah 29

إِنَّهُۥindeed it مِن(is) from سُلَيْمَٰنَsulaiman وَإِنَّهُۥand indeed it (is) بِسْمِin the name ٱللَّهِ(of) allah ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِthe most gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِthe most merciful۝٣٠ Āyah 30

أَلَّاthat not تَعْلُوا۟exalt yourselves عَلَىَّagainst me وَأْتُونِىbut come to me مُسْلِمِينَ(in) submission۝٣١ Āyah 31
