النمل

قَالَتْshe said يَٰٓأَيُّهَاo ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟chiefs أَفْتُونِىadvise me فِىٓin أَمْرِىmy affair مَاnot كُنتُi would be قَاطِعَةًthe one to decide أَمْرًاany matter حَتَّىٰuntil تَشْهَدُونِyou are present with me۝٣٢ Āyah 32

قَالُوا۟they said نَحْنُwe أُو۟لُوا۟(are) possessors قُوَّةٍ(of) strength وَأُو۟لُوا۟and possessors بَأْسٍ(of) might شَدِيدٍgreat وَٱلْأَمْرُand the command إِلَيْكِ(is) up to you فَٱنظُرِىso look مَاذَاwhat تَأْمُرِينَyou will command۝٣٣ Āyah 33

قَالَتْshe said إِنَّindeed ٱلْمُلُوكَthe kings إِذَاwhen دَخَلُوا۟they enter قَرْيَةًa town أَفْسَدُوهَاthey ruin it وَجَعَلُوٓا۟and make أَعِزَّةَ(the) most honorable أَهْلِهَآ(of) its people أَذِلَّةً(the) lowest وَكَذَٰلِكَand thus يَفْعَلُونَthey do۝٣٤ Āyah 34

وَإِنِّىbut indeed i am مُرْسِلَةٌgoing to send إِلَيْهِمto them بِهَدِيَّةٍa gift فَنَاظِرَةٌۢand see بِمَwith what يَرْجِعُreturn ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَthe messengers۝٣٥ Āyah 35

فَلَمَّاso when جَآءَcame سُلَيْمَٰنَ(to) sulaiman قَالَhe said أَتُمِدُّونَنِwill you provide me بِمَالٍwith wealth فَمَآbut what ءَاتَىٰنِۦَallah has given me ٱللَّهُallah has given me خَيْرٌ(is) better مِّمَّآthan what ءَاتَىٰكُمhe has given you بَلْnay أَنتُمyou بِهَدِيَّتِكُمْin your gift تَفْرَحُونَrejoice۝٣٦ Āyah 36

ٱرْجِعْreturn إِلَيْهِمْto them فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّهُمsurely we will come to them بِجُنُودٍwith hosts لَّاnot قِبَلَ(is) resistance لَهُمfor them بِهَاof it وَلَنُخْرِجَنَّهُمand surely we will drive them out مِّنْهَآfrom there أَذِلَّةً(in) humiliation وَهُمْand they صَٰغِرُونَ(will be) abased۝٣٧ Āyah 37

قَالَhe said يَٰٓأَيُّهَاo ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟chiefs أَيُّكُمْwhich of you يَأْتِينِىwill bring me بِعَرْشِهَاher throne قَبْلَbefore أَنthat يَأْتُونِىthey come to me مُسْلِمِينَ(in) submission۝٣٨ Āyah 38

قَالَsaid عِفْرِيتٌa strong one مِّنَof ٱلْجِنِّthe jinn أَنَا۠i ءَاتِيكَwill bring it to you بِهِۦwill bring it to you قَبْلَbefore أَن[that] تَقُومَyou rise مِنfrom مَّقَامِكَyour place وَإِنِّىand indeed i am عَلَيْهِfor it لَقَوِىٌّsurely strong أَمِينٌtrustworthy۝٣٩ Āyah 39

قَالَsaid ٱلَّذِىone who عِندَهُۥwith him عِلْمٌ(was) knowledge مِّنَof ٱلْكِتَٰبِthe scripture أَنَا۠i ءَاتِيكَwill bring it to you بِهِۦwill bring it to you قَبْلَbefore أَن[that] يَرْتَدَّreturns إِلَيْكَto you طَرْفُكَyour glance فَلَمَّاthen when رَءَاهُhe saw it مُسْتَقِرًّاplaced عِندَهُۥbefore him قَالَhe said هَٰذَاthis مِن(is) from فَضْلِ(the) favor رَبِّى(of) my lord لِيَبْلُوَنِىٓto test me ءَأَشْكُرُwhether i am أَمْor أَكْفُرُi am ungrateful وَمَنand whoever شَكَرَ(is) grateful فَإِنَّمَاthen only يَشْكُرُhe is grateful لِنَفْسِهِۦfor his own soul وَمَنand whoever كَفَرَ(is) ungrateful فَإِنَّthen indeed رَبِّىmy lord غَنِىٌّ(is) self sufficient كَرِيمٌnoble۝٤٠ Āyah 40

قَالَhe said نَكِّرُوا۟disguise لَهَاfor her عَرْشَهَاher throne; نَنظُرْwe will see أَتَهْتَدِىٓwhether she will be guided أَمْor تَكُونُwill be مِنَof ٱلَّذِينَthose who لَاare not guided يَهْتَدُونَare not guided۝٤١ Āyah 41

فَلَمَّاso when جَآءَتْshe came قِيلَit was said أَهَٰكَذَاis like this عَرْشُكِyour throne قَالَتْshe said كَأَنَّهُۥit is like هُوَit وَأُوتِينَاand we were given ٱلْعِلْمَthe knowledge مِنbefore her قَبْلِهَاbefore her وَكُنَّاand we have been مُسْلِمِينَmuslims۝٤٢ Āyah 42

وَصَدَّهَاand has averted her مَاwhat كَانَتshe used (to) تَّعْبُدُworship مِنbesides دُونِbesides ٱللَّهِallah إِنَّهَاindeed she كَانَتْwas مِنfrom قَوْمٍa people كَٰفِرِينَwho disbelieve۝٤٣ Āyah 43

قِيلَit was said لَهَاto her ٱدْخُلِىenter ٱلصَّرْحَthe palace فَلَمَّاthen when رَأَتْهُshe saw it حَسِبَتْهُshe thought it لُجَّةً(was) a pool وَكَشَفَتْand she uncovered عَن[on] سَاقَيْهَاher shins قَالَhe said إِنَّهُۥindeed it صَرْحٌ(is) a palace مُّمَرَّدٌmade smooth مِّنof قَوَارِيرَglass قَالَتْshe said رَبِّmy lord إِنِّىindeed i ظَلَمْتُ[i] have wronged نَفْسِىmyself وَأَسْلَمْتُand i submit مَعَwith سُلَيْمَٰنَsulaiman لِلَّهِto allah رَبِّ(the) lord ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds۝٤٤ Āyah 44
