القصص

وَلَمَّاand when تَوَجَّهَhe turned his face تِلْقَآءَtowards مَدْيَنَmadyan قَالَhe said عَسَىٰperhaps رَبِّىٓmy lord أَن[that] يَهْدِيَنِىwill guide me سَوَآءَ(to the) sound ٱلسَّبِيلِway۝٢٢ Āyah 22

وَلَمَّاand when وَرَدَhe came مَآءَ(to the) water مَدْيَنَ(of) madyan وَجَدَhe found عَلَيْهِon it أُمَّةًa group مِّنَof ٱلنَّاسِmen يَسْقُونَwatering وَوَجَدَand he found مِنbesides them دُونِهِمُbesides them ٱمْرَأَتَيْنِtwo women تَذُودَانِkeeping back قَالَhe said مَاwhat خَطْبُكُمَا(is the) matter with both of you قَالَتَاthey said لَاwe cannot water نَسْقِىwe cannot water حَتَّىٰuntil يُصْدِرَtake away ٱلرِّعَآءُthe shepherds; وَأَبُونَاand our father شَيْخٌ(is) a very old man كَبِيرٌ(is) a very old man۝٢٣ Āyah 23

فَسَقَىٰso he watered لَهُمَاfor them ثُمَّthen تَوَلَّىٰٓhe turned back إِلَىto ٱلظِّلِّthe shade فَقَالَand said رَبِّmy lord إِنِّىindeed i am لِمَآof whatever أَنزَلْتَyou send إِلَىَّto me مِنْof خَيْرٍgood فَقِيرٌ(in) need۝٢٤ Āyah 24

فَجَآءَتْهُthen came to him إِحْدَىٰهُمَاone of the two women تَمْشِىwalking عَلَىwith ٱسْتِحْيَآءٍshyness قَالَتْshe said إِنَّindeed أَبِىmy father يَدْعُوكَcalls you لِيَجْزِيَكَthat he may reward you أَجْرَ(the) reward مَا(for) what سَقَيْتَyou watered لَنَاfor us فَلَمَّاso when جَآءَهُۥhe came to him وَقَصَّand narrated عَلَيْهِto him ٱلْقَصَصَthe story قَالَhe said لَا(do) not تَخَفْfear نَجَوْتَyou have escaped مِنَfrom ٱلْقَوْمِthe people ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers۝٢٥ Āyah 25

قَالَتْsaid إِحْدَىٰهُمَاone of them يَٰٓأَبَتِo my father ٱسْتَـْٔجِرْهُhire him إِنَّindeed خَيْرَ(the) best مَنِwhom ٱسْتَـْٔجَرْتَyou (can) hire ٱلْقَوِىُّ(is) the strong ٱلْأَمِينُthe trustworthy۝٢٦ Āyah 26

قَالَhe said إِنِّىٓindeed i أُرِيدُ[i] wish أَنْto أُنكِحَكَmarry you to إِحْدَىone ٱبْنَتَىَّ(of) my daughters هَٰتَيْنِ(of) these two عَلَىٰٓon أَنthat تَأْجُرَنِىyou serve me ثَمَٰنِىَ(for) eight حِجَجٍyears; فَإِنْbut if أَتْمَمْتَyou complete عَشْرًاten فَمِنْthen from عِندِكَyou وَمَآand not أُرِيدُi wish أَنْto أَشُقَّmake it difficult عَلَيْكَfor you سَتَجِدُنِىٓyou will find me إِنif شَآءَallah wills ٱللَّهُallah wills مِنَof ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَthe righteous۝٢٧ Āyah 27

قَالَhe said ذَٰلِكَthat بَيْنِى(is) between me وَبَيْنَكَand between you أَيَّمَاwhichever ٱلْأَجَلَيْنِ(of) the two terms قَضَيْتُi complete فَلَاthen no عُدْوَٰنَinjustice عَلَىَّto me وَٱللَّهُand allah عَلَىٰover مَاwhat نَقُولُwe say وَكِيلٌ(is) a witness۝٢٨ Āyah 28
