القصص

وَلَقَدْand verily ءَاتَيْنَاwe gave مُوسَىmusa ٱلْكِتَٰبَthe scripture مِنۢafter [what] بَعْدِafter [what] مَآafter [what] أَهْلَكْنَاwe had destroyed ٱلْقُرُونَthe generations ٱلْأُولَىٰformer بَصَآئِرَ(as) an enlightenment لِلنَّاسِfor the mankind وَهُدًىand a guidance وَرَحْمَةًand mercy لَّعَلَّهُمْthat they may يَتَذَكَّرُونَremember۝٤٣ Āyah 43

وَمَاand not كُنتَyou were بِجَانِبِon (the) side ٱلْغَرْبِىِّwestern إِذْwhen قَضَيْنَآwe decreed إِلَىٰto مُوسَىmusa ٱلْأَمْرَthe commandment وَمَاand not كُنتَyou were مِنَamong ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَthe witnesses۝٤٤ Āyah 44

وَلَٰكِنَّآbut we أَنشَأْنَا[we] produced قُرُونًاgenerations فَتَطَاوَلَand prolonged عَلَيْهِمُfor them ٱلْعُمُرُthe life وَمَاand not كُنتَyou were ثَاوِيًاa dweller فِىٓamong أَهْلِ(the) people مَدْيَنَ(of) madyan تَتْلُوا۟reciting عَلَيْهِمْto them ءَايَٰتِنَاour verses وَلَٰكِنَّاbut we كُنَّا[we] were مُرْسِلِينَthe senders۝٤٥ Āyah 45

وَمَاand not كُنتَyou were بِجَانِبِat (the) side ٱلطُّورِ(of) the tur إِذْwhen نَادَيْنَاwe called وَلَٰكِنbut رَّحْمَةً(as) a mercy مِّنfrom رَّبِّكَyour lord لِتُنذِرَso that you warn قَوْمًاa people مَّآnot أَتَىٰهُم(had) come to them مِّنany نَّذِيرٍwarner مِّنbefore you قَبْلِكَbefore you لَعَلَّهُمْso that they may يَتَذَكَّرُونَremember۝٤٦ Āyah 46

وَلَوْلَآand if not أَن[that] تُصِيبَهُمstruck them مُّصِيبَةٌۢa disaster بِمَاfor what قَدَّمَتْhad sent forth أَيْدِيهِمْtheir hands فَيَقُولُوا۟and they would say رَبَّنَاour lord لَوْلَآwhy not أَرْسَلْتَyou sent إِلَيْنَاto us رَسُولًاa messenger فَنَتَّبِعَso we (could have) followed ءَايَٰتِكَyour verses وَنَكُونَand we (would) have been مِنَof ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers۝٤٧ Āyah 47

فَلَمَّاbut when جَآءَهُمُcame to them ٱلْحَقُّthe truth مِنْfrom us عِندِنَاfrom us قَالُوا۟they said لَوْلَآwhy not أُوتِىَhe was given مِثْلَ(the) like مَآ(of) what أُوتِىَwas given مُوسَىٰٓ(to) musa أَوَلَمْdid not يَكْفُرُوا۟they disbelieve بِمَآin what أُوتِىَwas given مُوسَىٰ(to) musa مِنbefore قَبْلُbefore قَالُوا۟they said سِحْرَانِtwo magic (works) تَظَٰهَرَاsupporting each other وَقَالُوٓا۟and they said إِنَّاindeed we بِكُلٍّin all كَٰفِرُونَ(are) disbelievers۝٤٨ Āyah 48

قُلْsay فَأْتُوا۟then bring بِكِتَٰبٍa book مِّنْfrom allah عِندِfrom allah ٱللَّهِfrom allah هُوَwhich أَهْدَىٰ(is) a better guide مِنْهُمَآthan both of them أَتَّبِعْهُthat i may follow it إِنif كُنتُمْyou are صَٰدِقِينَtruthful۝٤٩ Āyah 49

فَإِنbut if لَّمْnot يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟they respond لَكَto you فَٱعْلَمْthen know أَنَّمَاthat only يَتَّبِعُونَthey follow أَهْوَآءَهُمْtheir desires وَمَنْand who أَضَلُّ(is) more astray مِمَّنِthan (one) who ٱتَّبَعَfollows هَوَىٰهُhis own desire بِغَيْرِwithout هُدًىguidance مِّنَfrom ٱللَّهِallah إِنَّindeed ٱللَّهَallah لَا(does) not يَهْدِىguide ٱلْقَوْمَthe people ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers۝٥٠ Āyah 50
