إِنَّindeed قَٰرُونَqarun كَانَwas مِنfrom قَوْمِ(the) people مُوسَىٰ(of) musa فَبَغَىٰbut he oppressed عَلَيْهِمْ[on] them وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُand we gave him مِنَof ٱلْكُنُوزِthe treasures مَآwhich إِنَّindeed مَفَاتِحَهُۥ(the) keys of it لَتَنُوٓأُwould burden بِٱلْعُصْبَةِa company (of men) أُو۟لِىpossessors of great strength ٱلْقُوَّةِpossessors of great strength إِذْwhen قَالَsaid لَهُۥto him قَوْمُهُۥhis people لَا(do) not تَفْرَحْexult إِنَّindeed ٱللَّهَallah لَا(does) not يُحِبُّlove ٱلْفَرِحِينَthe exultant۝٧٦ Āyah 76

وَٱبْتَغِbut seek فِيمَآthrough what ءَاتَىٰكَallah has given you ٱللَّهُallah has given you ٱلدَّارَthe home ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ(of) the hereafter وَلَاand (do) not تَنسَforget نَصِيبَكَyour share مِنَof ٱلدُّنْيَاthe world وَأَحْسِنand do good كَمَآas أَحْسَنَallah has been good ٱللَّهُallah has been good إِلَيْكَto you وَلَاand (do) not تَبْغِseek ٱلْفَسَادَcorruption فِىin ٱلْأَرْضِthe earth إِنَّindeed ٱللَّهَallah لَا(does) not يُحِبُّlove ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَthe corrupters۝٧٧ Āyah 77

قَالَhe said إِنَّمَآonly أُوتِيتُهُۥi have been given it عَلَىٰon (account) عِلْمٍ(of) knowledge عِندِىٓi have أَوَلَمْdid not يَعْلَمْhe know أَنَّthat ٱللَّهَallah قَدْindeed أَهْلَكَdestroyed مِنbefore him قَبْلِهِۦbefore him مِنَof ٱلْقُرُونِthe generations مَنْwho هُوَ[they] أَشَدُّ(were) stronger مِنْهُthan him قُوَّةً(in) strength وَأَكْثَرُand greater جَمْعًا(in) accumulation وَلَاand not يُسْـَٔلُwill be questioned عَنabout ذُنُوبِهِمُtheir sins ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَthe criminals۝٧٨ Āyah 78

فَخَرَجَso he went forth عَلَىٰto قَوْمِهِۦhis people فِىin زِينَتِهِۦhis adornment قَالَsaid ٱلَّذِينَthose who يُرِيدُونَdesire ٱلْحَيَوٰةَthe life ٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the world يَٰلَيْتَo would that لَنَاfor us مِثْلَ(the) like مَآ(of) what أُوتِىَhas been given قَٰرُونُ(to) qarun إِنَّهُۥindeed he لَذُو(is the) owner حَظٍّ(of) fortune عَظِيمٍgreat۝٧٩ Āyah 79

وَقَالَbut said ٱلَّذِينَthose who أُوتُوا۟were given ٱلْعِلْمَthe knowledge وَيْلَكُمْwoe to you ثَوَابُ(the) reward ٱللَّهِ(of) allah خَيْرٌ(is) better لِّمَنْfor (he) who ءَامَنَbelieves وَعَمِلَand does صَٰلِحًاrighteous (deeds) وَلَاand not يُلَقَّىٰهَآit is granted إِلَّاexcept ٱلصَّٰبِرُونَ(to) the patient ones۝٨٠ Āyah 80

فَخَسَفْنَاthen we caused to swallow up بِهِۦhim وَبِدَارِهِand his home ٱلْأَرْضَthe earth فَمَاthen not كَانَwas لَهُۥfor him مِنany فِئَةٍgroup يَنصُرُونَهُۥ(to) help him مِنbesides دُونِbesides ٱللَّهِallah وَمَاand not كَانَwas مِنَ(he) of ٱلْمُنتَصِرِينَthose who (could) defend themselves۝٨١ Āyah 81

وَأَصْبَحَand began ٱلَّذِينَthose who تَمَنَّوْا۟(had) wished مَكَانَهُۥhis position بِٱلْأَمْسِthe day before يَقُولُونَ(to) say وَيْكَأَنَّah that ٱللَّهَallah يَبْسُطُextends ٱلرِّزْقَthe provision لِمَنfor whom يَشَآءُhe wills مِنْof عِبَادِهِۦhis slaves وَيَقْدِرُand restricts it لَوْلَآif not أَنthat مَّنَّallah had favored ٱللَّهُallah had favored عَلَيْنَا[to] us لَخَسَفَhe would have caused it to swallow us بِنَاhe would have caused it to swallow us وَيْكَأَنَّهُۥah that لَاnot يُفْلِحُwill succeed ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَthe disbelievers۝٨٢ Āyah 82

تِلْكَthat ٱلدَّارُthe home ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ(of) the hereafter نَجْعَلُهَاwe assign it لِلَّذِينَto those who لَا(do) not يُرِيدُونَdesire عُلُوًّاexaltedness فِىin ٱلْأَرْضِthe earth وَلَاand not فَسَادًاcorruption وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُand the good end لِلْمُتَّقِينَ(is) for the righteous۝٨٣ Āyah 83

مَنwhoever جَآءَcomes بِٱلْحَسَنَةِwith a good (deed) فَلَهُۥthen for him خَيْرٌ(will be) better مِّنْهَاthan it; وَمَنand whoever جَآءَcomes بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِwith an evil (deed) فَلَاthen not يُجْزَىwill be recompensed ٱلَّذِينَthose who عَمِلُوا۟do ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِthe evil (deeds) إِلَّاexcept مَاwhat كَانُوا۟they used (to) يَعْمَلُونَdo۝٨٤ Āyah 84

إِنَّindeed ٱلَّذِىhe who فَرَضَordained عَلَيْكَupon you ٱلْقُرْءَانَthe quran لَرَآدُّكَ(will) surely take you back إِلَىٰto مَعَادٍa place of return قُلsay رَّبِّىٓmy lord أَعْلَمُ(is) most knowing مَن(of him) who جَآءَcomes بِٱلْهُدَىٰwith the guidance وَمَنْand who هُوَhe فِى(is) in ضَلَٰلٍan error مُّبِينٍmanifest۝٨٥ Āyah 85

وَمَاand not كُنتَyou were تَرْجُوٓا۟expecting أَنthat يُلْقَىٰٓwould be sent down إِلَيْكَto you ٱلْكِتَٰبُthe book إِلَّاexcept رَحْمَةً(as) a mercy مِّنfrom رَّبِّكَyour lord فَلَاso (do) not تَكُونَنَّbe ظَهِيرًاan assistant لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَto the disbelievers۝٨٦ Āyah 86

وَلَاand (let) not يَصُدُّنَّكَavert you عَنْfrom ءَايَٰتِ(the) verses ٱللَّهِ(of) allah بَعْدَafter إِذْ[when] أُنزِلَتْthey have been revealed إِلَيْكَto you وَٱدْعُand invite (people) إِلَىٰto رَبِّكَyour lord وَلَاand (do) not تَكُونَنَّbe مِنَof ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَthe polytheists۝٨٧ Āyah 87

وَلَاand (do) not تَدْعُinvoke مَعَwith ٱللَّهِallah إِلَٰهًاgod ءَاخَرَother لَآ(there is) no إِلَٰهَgod إِلَّاexcept هُوَhim كُلُّevery شَىْءٍthing هَالِكٌ(will be) destroyed إِلَّاexcept وَجْهَهُۥhis face لَهُto him ٱلْحُكْمُ(is) the decision وَإِلَيْهِand to him تُرْجَعُونَyou will be returned۝٨٨ Āyah 88
