وَمَاand not يَنظُرُawait هَٰٓؤُلَآءِthese إِلَّاbut صَيْحَةًa shout وَٰحِدَةًone; مَّاnot لَهَاfor it مِنany فَوَاقٍdelay۝١٥ Āyah 15

وَقَالُوا۟and they say رَبَّنَاour lord عَجِّلhasten لَّنَاfor us قِطَّنَاour share قَبْلَbefore يَوْمِ(the) day ٱلْحِسَابِ(of) the account۝١٦ Āyah 16

ٱصْبِرْbe patient عَلَىٰover مَاwhat يَقُولُونَthey say وَٱذْكُرْand remember عَبْدَنَاour slave دَاوُۥدَdawood ذَاthe possessor of strength ٱلْأَيْدِthe possessor of strength إِنَّهُۥٓindeed he (was) أَوَّابٌrepeatedly turning۝١٧ Āyah 17

إِنَّاindeed we سَخَّرْنَاsubjected ٱلْجِبَالَthe mountains مَعَهُۥwith him يُسَبِّحْنَglorifying بِٱلْعَشِىِّin the evening وَٱلْإِشْرَاقِand [the] sunrise۝١٨ Āyah 18

وَٱلطَّيْرَand the birds مَحْشُورَةًassembled كُلٌّall لَّهُۥٓwith him أَوَّابٌrepeatedly turning۝١٩ Āyah 19

وَشَدَدْنَاand we strengthened مُلْكَهُۥhis kingdom وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُand we gave him ٱلْحِكْمَةَ[the] wisdom وَفَصْلَand decisive ٱلْخِطَابِspeech۝٢٠ Āyah 20

وَهَلْand has (there) أَتَىٰكَcome to you نَبَؤُا۟(the) news ٱلْخَصْمِ(of) the litigants إِذْwhen تَسَوَّرُوا۟they climbed over the wall ٱلْمِحْرَابَ(of) the chamber۝٢١ Āyah 21

إِذْwhen دَخَلُوا۟they entered عَلَىٰupon دَاوُۥدَdawood فَفَزِعَand he was afraid مِنْهُمْof them قَالُوا۟they said لَا(do) not تَخَفْfear خَصْمَانِ(we are) two litigants بَغَىٰhas wronged بَعْضُنَاone of us عَلَىٰto بَعْضٍanother فَٱحْكُمso judge بَيْنَنَاbetween us بِٱلْحَقِّin truth وَلَاand (do) not تُشْطِطْbe unjust وَٱهْدِنَآand guide us إِلَىٰto سَوَآءِan even ٱلصِّرَٰطِ[the] path۝٢٢ Āyah 22

إِنَّindeed هَٰذَآthis أَخِى(is) my brother لَهُۥhe has تِسْعٌninety nine وَتِسْعُونَninety nine نَعْجَةًewe(s) وَلِىَwhile i have نَعْجَةٌewe وَٰحِدَةٌone; فَقَالَso he said أَكْفِلْنِيهَاentrust her to me وَعَزَّنِىand he overpowered فِىin ٱلْخِطَابِ[the] speech۝٢٣ Āyah 23

قَالَhe said لَقَدْcertainly ظَلَمَكَhe has wronged you بِسُؤَالِby demanding نَعْجَتِكَyour ewe إِلَىٰto نِعَاجِهِۦhis ewes وَإِنَّand indeed كَثِيرًاmany مِّنَof ٱلْخُلَطَآءِthe partners لَيَبْغِىcertainly oppress بَعْضُهُمْsome of them عَلَىٰ[on] بَعْضٍanother إِلَّاexcept ٱلَّذِينَthose who ءَامَنُوا۟believe وَعَمِلُوا۟and do ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deeds وَقَلِيلٌand few مَّا(are) they هُمْ(are) they وَظَنَّand became certain دَاوُۥدُdawood أَنَّمَاthat فَتَنَّٰهُwe (had) tried him فَٱسْتَغْفَرَand he asked forgiveness رَبَّهُۥ(of) his lord وَخَرَّand fell down رَاكِعًاbowing وَأَنَابَand turned in repentance۝٢٤ Āyah 24

فَغَفَرْنَاso we forgave لَهُۥfor him ذَٰلِكَthat وَإِنَّand indeed لَهُۥfor him عِندَنَاwith us لَزُلْفَىٰsurely is a near access وَحُسْنَand a good مَـَٔابٍplace of return۝٢٥ Āyah 25

يَٰدَاوُۥدُo dawood إِنَّاindeed we جَعَلْنَٰكَ[we] have made you خَلِيفَةًa vicegerent فِىin ٱلْأَرْضِthe earth فَٱحْكُمso judge بَيْنَbetween ٱلنَّاسِ[the] men بِٱلْحَقِّin truth وَلَاand (do) not تَتَّبِعِfollow ٱلْهَوَىٰthe desire فَيُضِلَّكَfor it will lead you astray عَنfrom سَبِيلِ(the) way ٱللَّهِ(of) allah إِنَّindeed ٱلَّذِينَthose who يَضِلُّونَgo astray عَنfrom سَبِيلِ(the) way ٱللَّهِ(of) allah لَهُمْfor them عَذَابٌ(is) a punishment شَدِيدٌۢsevere بِمَاbecause نَسُوا۟they forgot يَوْمَ(the) day ٱلْحِسَابِ(of) account۝٢٦ Āyah 26
