وَمَاand not خَلَقْنَاwe created ٱلسَّمَآءَthe heaven وَٱلْأَرْضَand the earth وَمَاand whatever بَيْنَهُمَا(is) between them بَٰطِلًاwithout purpose ذَٰلِكَthat ظَنُّ(is the) assumption ٱلَّذِينَ(of) those who كَفَرُوا۟disbelieve فَوَيْلٌso woe لِّلَّذِينَto those كَفَرُوا۟who disbelieve مِنَfrom ٱلنَّارِthe fire۝٢٧ Āyah 27

أَمْor نَجْعَلُshould we treat ٱلَّذِينَthose who ءَامَنُوا۟believe وَعَمِلُوا۟and do ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deeds كَٱلْمُفْسِدِينَlike those who spread corruption فِىin ٱلْأَرْضِthe earth أَمْor نَجْعَلُshould we treat ٱلْمُتَّقِينَthe pious كَٱلْفُجَّارِlike the wicked۝٢٨ Āyah 28

كِتَٰبٌ(this is) a book أَنزَلْنَٰهُwe have revealed it إِلَيْكَto you مُبَٰرَكٌblessed لِّيَدَّبَّرُوٓا۟that they may ponder ءَايَٰتِهِۦ(over) its verses وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَand may be reminded أُو۟لُوا۟those of understanding ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِthose of understanding۝٢٩ Āyah 29

وَوَهَبْنَاand we gave لِدَاوُۥدَto dawood سُلَيْمَٰنَsulaiman نِعْمَan excellent ٱلْعَبْدُslave إِنَّهُۥٓindeed he أَوَّابٌ(was) one who repeatedly turned۝٣٠ Āyah 30

إِذْwhen عُرِضَwere displayed عَلَيْهِto him بِٱلْعَشِىِّin the afternoon ٱلصَّٰفِنَٰتُexcellent bred steeds ٱلْجِيَادُexcellent bred steeds۝٣١ Āyah 31

فَقَالَand he said إِنِّىٓindeed i أَحْبَبْتُ[i] preferred حُبَّ(the) love ٱلْخَيْرِ(of) the good عَنover ذِكْرِ(the) remembrance رَبِّى(of) my lord حَتَّىٰuntil تَوَارَتْthey were hidden بِٱلْحِجَابِin the veil;۝٣٢ Āyah 32

رُدُّوهَاreturn them عَلَىَّto me فَطَفِقَthen he began مَسْحًۢا(to) pass (his hand) بِٱلسُّوقِover the legs وَٱلْأَعْنَاقِand the necks۝٣٣ Āyah 33

وَلَقَدْand certainly فَتَنَّاwe tried سُلَيْمَٰنَsulaiman وَأَلْقَيْنَاand we placed عَلَىٰon كُرْسِيِّهِۦhis throne جَسَدًاa body; ثُمَّthen أَنَابَhe turned۝٣٤ Āyah 34

قَالَhe said رَبِّo my lord ٱغْفِرْforgive لِىme وَهَبْand grant لِىme مُلْكًاa kingdom لَّاnot يَنۢبَغِى(will) belong لِأَحَدٍto anyone مِّنۢafter me بَعْدِىٓafter me إِنَّكَindeed you أَنتَ[you] ٱلْوَهَّابُ(are) the bestower۝٣٥ Āyah 35

فَسَخَّرْنَاthen we subjected لَهُto him ٱلرِّيحَthe wind تَجْرِىto flow بِأَمْرِهِۦby his command رُخَآءًgently حَيْثُwherever أَصَابَhe directed۝٣٦ Āyah 36

وَٱلشَّيَٰطِينَand the devils كُلَّevery بَنَّآءٍbuilder وَغَوَّاصٍand diver۝٣٧ Āyah 37

وَءَاخَرِينَand others مُقَرَّنِينَbound فِىin ٱلْأَصْفَادِchains۝٣٨ Āyah 38

هَٰذَاthis عَطَآؤُنَا(is) our gift فَٱمْنُنْso grant أَوْor أَمْسِكْwithhold بِغَيْرِwithout حِسَابٍaccount۝٣٩ Āyah 39

وَإِنَّand indeed لَهُۥfor him عِندَنَاwith us لَزُلْفَىٰsurely is a near access وَحُسْنَand a good مَـَٔابٍplace of return۝٤٠ Āyah 40
