النساء

بِسْمِin (the) name ٱللَّهِ(of) allah ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِthe most gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِthe most merciful

يَٰٓأَيُّهَاo ٱلنَّاسُmankind ٱتَّقُوا۟fear رَبَّكُمُyour lord ٱلَّذِىthe one who خَلَقَكُمcreated you مِّنfrom نَّفْسٍa soul وَٰحِدَةٍsingle وَخَلَقَand created مِنْهَاfrom it زَوْجَهَاits mate وَبَثَّand dispersed مِنْهُمَاfrom both of them رِجَالًاmany men كَثِيرًاmany men وَنِسَآءًand women وَٱتَّقُوا۟and fear ٱللَّهَallah ٱلَّذِى(through) whom تَسَآءَلُونَyou ask بِهِۦ[with it] وَٱلْأَرْحَامَand the wombs إِنَّindeed ٱللَّهَallah كَانَis عَلَيْكُمْover you رَقِيبًاever watchful۝١ Āyah 1

وَءَاتُوا۟and give ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰٓ(to) the orphans أَمْوَٰلَهُمْtheir wealth وَلَاand (do) not تَتَبَدَّلُوا۟exchange ٱلْخَبِيثَthe bad بِٱلطَّيِّبِwith the good وَلَاand (do) not تَأْكُلُوٓا۟consume أَمْوَٰلَهُمْtheir wealth إِلَىٰٓwith أَمْوَٰلِكُمْyour wealth إِنَّهُۥindeed it كَانَis حُوبًاa sin كَبِيرًاgreat۝٢ Āyah 2

وَإِنْand if خِفْتُمْyou fear أَلَّاthat not تُقْسِطُوا۟you will be able to do فِىwith ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰthe orphans فَٱنكِحُوا۟then marry مَاwhat طَابَseems suitable لَكُمto you مِّنَfrom ٱلنِّسَآءِthe women مَثْنَىٰtwo وَثُلَٰثَor three وَرُبَٰعَor four فَإِنْbut if خِفْتُمْyou fear أَلَّاthat not تَعْدِلُوا۟you can do justice فَوَٰحِدَةًthen (marry) one أَوْor مَاwhat مَلَكَتْpossesses أَيْمَٰنُكُمْyour right hand ذَٰلِكَthat أَدْنَىٰٓ(is) more appropriate أَلَّاthat you (may) not oppress تَعُولُوا۟that you (may) not oppress۝٣ Āyah 3

وَءَاتُوا۟and give ٱلنِّسَآءَthe women صَدُقَٰتِهِنَّtheir dower نِحْلَةًgraciously فَإِنbut if طِبْنَthey remit لَكُمْto you عَنanything شَىْءٍanything مِّنْهُof it نَفْسًا(on their) own فَكُلُوهُthen eat it هَنِيٓـًٔا(in) satisfaction مَّرِيٓـًٔا(and) ease۝٤ Āyah 4

وَلَاand (do) not تُؤْتُوا۟give ٱلسُّفَهَآءَthe foolish أَمْوَٰلَكُمُyour wealth ٱلَّتِىwhich جَعَلَallah made ٱللَّهُallah made لَكُمْfor you قِيَٰمًاa means of support وَٱرْزُقُوهُمْ(but) provide (for) them فِيهَاwith it وَٱكْسُوهُمْand clothe them وَقُولُوا۟and speak لَهُمْto them قَوْلًاwords مَّعْرُوفًا(of) kindness۝٥ Āyah 5

وَٱبْتَلُوا۟and test ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰthe orphans حَتَّىٰٓuntil إِذَا[when] بَلَغُوا۟they reach[ed] ٱلنِّكَاحَ(the age of) marriage فَإِنْthen if ءَانَسْتُمyou perceive مِّنْهُمْin them رُشْدًاsound judgement فَٱدْفَعُوٓا۟then deliver إِلَيْهِمْto them أَمْوَٰلَهُمْtheir wealth وَلَاand (do) not تَأْكُلُوهَآeat it إِسْرَافًاextravagantly وَبِدَارًاand hastily أَن(fearing) that يَكْبَرُوا۟they will grow up وَمَنand whoever كَانَis غَنِيًّاrich فَلْيَسْتَعْفِفْthen he should refrain وَمَنand whoever كَانَis فَقِيرًاpoor فَلْيَأْكُلْthen let him eat (of it) بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِin a fair manner فَإِذَاthen when دَفَعْتُمْyou deliver إِلَيْهِمْto them أَمْوَٰلَهُمْtheir wealth فَأَشْهِدُوا۟then take witnesses عَلَيْهِمْon them وَكَفَىٰand allah is sufficient بِٱللَّهِand allah is sufficient حَسِيبًا(as) a reckoner۝٦ Āyah 6

لِّلرِّجَالِfor the men نَصِيبٌa portion مِّمَّاof what تَرَكَ(is) left ٱلْوَٰلِدَانِ(by) the parents وَٱلْأَقْرَبُونَand the near relatives وَلِلنِّسَآءِand for the women نَصِيبٌa portion مِّمَّاof what تَرَكَ(is) left ٱلْوَٰلِدَانِ(by) parents وَٱلْأَقْرَبُونَand the near relatives مِمَّاof what قَلَّ(is) little مِنْهُof it أَوْor كَثُرَmuch نَصِيبًاa portion مَّفْرُوضًاobligatory۝٧ Āyah 7

وَإِذَاand when حَضَرَpresent ٱلْقِسْمَةَ(at) the (time of) division أُو۟لُوا۟the relatives ٱلْقُرْبَىٰthe relatives وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰand the orphans وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينُand the poor فَٱرْزُقُوهُمthen provide them مِّنْهُfrom it وَقُولُوا۟and speak لَهُمْto them قَوْلًاwords مَّعْرُوفًا(of) kindness۝٨ Āyah 8

وَلْيَخْشَand let fear ٱلَّذِينَthose who لَوْif تَرَكُوا۟they left مِنْbehind خَلْفِهِمْbehind ذُرِّيَّةًoffspring ضِعَٰفًاweak خَافُوا۟(and) they would have feared عَلَيْهِمْabout them فَلْيَتَّقُوا۟so let them fear ٱللَّهَallah وَلْيَقُولُوا۟and let them speak قَوْلًاwords سَدِيدًاappropriate۝٩ Āyah 9

إِنَّindeed ٱلَّذِينَthose who يَأْكُلُونَconsume أَمْوَٰلَwealth ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ(of) the orphans ظُلْمًاwrongfully إِنَّمَاonly يَأْكُلُونَthey consume فِىin بُطُونِهِمْtheir bellies نَارًاfire وَسَيَصْلَوْنَand they will be burned سَعِيرًا(in) a blazing fire۝١٠ Āyah 10
