الأحقاف

وَلَقَدْand certainly أَهْلَكْنَاwe destroyed مَاwhat حَوْلَكُمsurrounds you مِّنَof ٱلْقُرَىٰthe towns وَصَرَّفْنَاand we have diversified ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِthe signs لَعَلَّهُمْthat they may يَرْجِعُونَreturn۝٢٧ Āyah 27

فَلَوْلَاthen why (did) not نَصَرَهُمُhelp them ٱلَّذِينَthose whom ٱتَّخَذُوا۟they had taken مِنbesides دُونِbesides ٱللَّهِallah قُرْبَانًاgods as a way of approach ءَالِهَةًۢgods as a way of approach بَلْnay ضَلُّوا۟they were lost عَنْهُمْfrom them وَذَٰلِكَand that إِفْكُهُمْ(was) their falsehood وَمَاand what كَانُوا۟they were يَفْتَرُونَinventing۝٢٨ Āyah 28

وَإِذْand when صَرَفْنَآwe directed إِلَيْكَto you نَفَرًاa party مِّنَof ٱلْجِنِّthe jinn يَسْتَمِعُونَlistening ٱلْقُرْءَانَ(to) the quran فَلَمَّاand when حَضَرُوهُthey attended it قَالُوٓا۟they said أَنصِتُوا۟listen quietly فَلَمَّاand when قُضِىَit was concluded وَلَّوْا۟they turned back إِلَىٰto قَوْمِهِمtheir people مُّنذِرِينَ(as) warners۝٢٩ Āyah 29

قَالُوا۟they said يَٰقَوْمَنَآo our people إِنَّاindeed we سَمِعْنَا[we] have heard كِتَٰبًاa book أُنزِلَrevealed مِنۢafter بَعْدِafter مُوسَىٰmusa مُصَدِّقًاconfirming لِّمَاwhat بَيْنَ(was) before it يَدَيْهِ(was) before it يَهْدِىٓguiding إِلَىto ٱلْحَقِّthe truth وَإِلَىٰand to طَرِيقٍa path مُّسْتَقِيمٍstraight۝٣٠ Āyah 30

يَٰقَوْمَنَآo our people أَجِيبُوا۟respond دَاعِىَ(to the) caller ٱللَّهِ(of) allah وَءَامِنُوا۟and believe بِهِۦin him يَغْفِرْhe will forgive لَكُمfor you مِّنof ذُنُوبِكُمْyour sins وَيُجِرْكُمand will protect you مِّنْfrom عَذَابٍa punishment أَلِيمٍpainful۝٣١ Āyah 31

وَمَنand whoever لَّا(does) not يُجِبْrespond دَاعِىَ(to the) caller ٱللَّهِ(of) allah فَلَيْسَthen not بِمُعْجِزٍhe can escape فِىin ٱلْأَرْضِthe earth وَلَيْسَand not لَهُۥfor him مِنbesides him دُونِهِۦٓbesides him أَوْلِيَآءُprotectors أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthose فِى(are) in ضَلَٰلٍerror مُّبِينٍclear۝٣٢ Āyah 32

أَوَلَمْdo not يَرَوْا۟they see أَنَّthat ٱللَّهَallah ٱلَّذِى(is) the one who خَلَقَcreated ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَand the earth وَلَمْand (was) not يَعْىَtired بِخَلْقِهِنَّby their creation بِقَٰدِرٍ(is) able عَلَىٰٓto give life أَنto give life يُحْـِۧىَto give life ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ(to) the dead بَلَىٰٓyes إِنَّهُۥindeed he عَلَىٰ(is) on كُلِّevery شَىْءٍthing قَدِيرٌall powerful۝٣٣ Āyah 33

وَيَوْمَand (the) day يُعْرَضُare exposed ٱلَّذِينَthose who كَفَرُوا۟disbelieved عَلَىto ٱلنَّارِthe fire أَلَيْسَis not هَٰذَاthis بِٱلْحَقِّthe truth قَالُوا۟they will say بَلَىٰyes وَرَبِّنَاby our lord قَالَhe will say فَذُوقُوا۟then taste ٱلْعَذَابَthe punishment بِمَاbecause كُنتُمْyou used to تَكْفُرُونَdisbelieve۝٣٤ Āyah 34

فَٱصْبِرْso be patient كَمَاas صَبَرَhad patience أُو۟لُوا۟those of determination ٱلْعَزْمِthose of determination مِنَof ٱلرُّسُلِthe messengers وَلَاand (do) not تَسْتَعْجِلseek to hasten لَّهُمْfor them كَأَنَّهُمْas if they had يَوْمَ(the) day يَرَوْنَthey see مَاwhat يُوعَدُونَthey were promised لَمْnot يَلْبَثُوٓا۟remained إِلَّاexcept سَاعَةًan hour مِّنof نَّهَارٍۭa day بَلَٰغٌa notification فَهَلْbut will يُهْلَكُ(any) be destroyed إِلَّاexcept ٱلْقَوْمُthe people ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَthe defiantly disobedient۝٣٥ Āyah 35
