الأحقاف

وَٱذْكُرْand mention أَخَا(the) brother عَادٍ(of) إِذْwhen أَنذَرَhe warned قَوْمَهُۥhis people بِٱلْأَحْقَافِin the وَقَدْand had already passed away خَلَتِand had already passed away ٱلنُّذُرُ[the] warners مِنۢbefore him بَيْنِbefore him يَدَيْهِbefore him وَمِنْand after him خَلْفِهِۦٓand after him أَلَّاthat not تَعْبُدُوٓا۟you worship إِلَّاexcept ٱللَّهَallah إِنِّىٓindeed i أَخَافُ[i] fear عَلَيْكُمْfor you عَذَابَa punishment يَوْمٍ(of) a day عَظِيمٍgreat۝٢١ Āyah 21

قَالُوٓا۟they said أَجِئْتَنَاhave you come to us لِتَأْفِكَنَاto turn us away عَنْfrom ءَالِهَتِنَاour gods فَأْتِنَاthen bring us بِمَاwhat تَعِدُنَآyou threaten us إِنif كُنتَyou are مِنَof ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَthe truthful۝٢٢ Āyah 22

قَالَhe said إِنَّمَاonly ٱلْعِلْمُthe knowledge عِندَ(is) with allah ٱللَّهِ(is) with allah وَأُبَلِّغُكُمand i convey to you مَّآwhat أُرْسِلْتُi am sent بِهِۦwith it وَلَٰكِنِّىٓbut أَرَىٰكُمْi see you قَوْمًاa people تَجْهَلُونَignorant۝٢٣ Āyah 23

فَلَمَّاthen when رَأَوْهُthey saw it عَارِضًا(as) a cloud مُّسْتَقْبِلَapproaching أَوْدِيَتِهِمْtheir valleys قَالُوا۟they said هَٰذَاthis عَارِضٌ(is) a cloud مُّمْطِرُنَاbringing us rain بَلْnay هُوَit مَا(is) what ٱسْتَعْجَلْتُمyou were asking it to be hastened بِهِۦyou were asking it to be hastened رِيحٌa wind فِيهَاin it عَذَابٌ(is) a punishment أَلِيمٌpainful۝٢٤ Āyah 24

تُدَمِّرُdestroying كُلَّevery شَىْءٍۭthing بِأَمْرِby (the) command رَبِّهَا(of) its lord فَأَصْبَحُوا۟then they became (such) لَاnot يُرَىٰٓis seen إِلَّاexcept مَسَٰكِنُهُمْtheir dwellings كَذَٰلِكَthus نَجْزِىwe recompense ٱلْقَوْمَthe people ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ[the] criminals۝٢٥ Āyah 25

وَلَقَدْand certainly مَكَّنَّٰهُمْwe had established them فِيمَآin what إِنnot مَّكَّنَّٰكُمْwe have established you فِيهِin it وَجَعَلْنَاand we made لَهُمْfor them سَمْعًاhearing وَأَبْصَٰرًاand vision وَأَفْـِٔدَةًand hearts فَمَآbut not أَغْنَىٰavailed عَنْهُمْthem سَمْعُهُمْtheir hearing وَلَآand not أَبْصَٰرُهُمْtheir vision وَلَآand not أَفْـِٔدَتُهُمtheir hearts مِّنany شَىْءٍthing إِذْwhen كَانُوا۟they were يَجْحَدُونَrejecting بِـَٔايَٰتِ(the) signs ٱللَّهِ(of) allah وَحَاقَand enveloped بِهِمthem مَّاwhat كَانُوا۟they used to بِهِۦ[at it] يَسْتَهْزِءُونَridicule۝٢٦ Āyah 26
