بِسْمِin (the) name ٱللَّهِ(of) allah ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِthe most gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِthe most merciful

هَلْhas أَتَىٰ(there) come عَلَىupon ٱلْإِنسَٰنِman حِينٌa period مِّنَof ٱلدَّهْرِtime لَمْnot يَكُنhe was شَيْـًٔاa thing مَّذْكُورًاmentioned۝١ Āyah 1

إِنَّاindeed we خَلَقْنَا[we] created ٱلْإِنسَٰنَman مِنfrom نُّطْفَةٍa semen drop أَمْشَاجٍa mixture نَّبْتَلِيهِ(that) we test him; فَجَعَلْنَٰهُso سَمِيعًۢاhearing بَصِيرًاand sight۝٢ Āyah 2

إِنَّاindeed we هَدَيْنَٰهُguided him ٱلسَّبِيلَ(to) the way إِمَّاwhether شَاكِرًا(he) be grateful وَإِمَّاand whether كَفُورًا(he) be ungrateful۝٣ Āyah 3

إِنَّآindeed we أَعْتَدْنَا[we] have prepared لِلْكَٰفِرِينَfor the disbelievers سَلَٰسِلَا۟chains وَأَغْلَٰلًاand shackles وَسَعِيرًاand a blazing fire۝٤ Āyah 4

إِنَّindeed ٱلْأَبْرَارَthe righteous يَشْرَبُونَwill drink مِنfrom كَأْسٍa cup كَانَis مِزَاجُهَاits mixture كَافُورًا(of)۝٥ Āyah 5

عَيْنًاa spring يَشْرَبُwill drink بِهَاfrom it عِبَادُ(the) slaves ٱللَّهِ(of) allah; يُفَجِّرُونَهَاcausing it to gush forth تَفْجِيرًاabundantly۝٦ Āyah 6

يُوفُونَthey fulfill بِٱلنَّذْرِthe vows وَيَخَافُونَand fear يَوْمًاa day كَانَ(which) is شَرُّهُۥits evil مُسْتَطِيرًاwidespread۝٧ Āyah 7

وَيُطْعِمُونَand they feed ٱلطَّعَامَthe food عَلَىٰin spite of حُبِّهِۦlove (for) it مِسْكِينًا(to the) needy وَيَتِيمًاand (the) orphan وَأَسِيرًاand (the) captive۝٨ Āyah 8

إِنَّمَاonly نُطْعِمُكُمْwe feed you لِوَجْهِfor (the) countenance ٱللَّهِ(of) allah لَاnot نُرِيدُwe desire مِنكُمْfrom you جَزَآءًany reward وَلَاand not شُكُورًاthanks۝٩ Āyah 9

إِنَّاindeed we نَخَافُfear مِنfrom رَّبِّنَاour lord يَوْمًاa day عَبُوسًاharsh قَمْطَرِيرًاand distressful۝١٠ Āyah 10

فَوَقَىٰهُمُbut will protect them ٱللَّهُallah شَرَّ(from the) evil ذَٰلِكَ(of) that ٱلْيَوْمِday وَلَقَّىٰهُمْand will cause them to meet نَضْرَةًradiance وَسُرُورًاand happiness۝١١ Āyah 11

وَجَزَىٰهُمand will reward them بِمَاbecause صَبَرُوا۟they were patient جَنَّةً(with) a garden وَحَرِيرًاand silk۝١٢ Āyah 12

مُّتَّكِـِٔينَreclining فِيهَاtherein عَلَىon ٱلْأَرَآئِكِcouches لَاnot يَرَوْنَthey will see فِيهَاtherein شَمْسًاsun وَلَاand not زَمْهَرِيرًاfreezing cold۝١٣ Āyah 13

وَدَانِيَةًand near عَلَيْهِمْabove them ظِلَٰلُهَا(are) its shades وَذُلِّلَتْand will hang low قُطُوفُهَاits cluster of fruits تَذْلِيلًاdangling low۝١٤ Āyah 14

وَيُطَافُand will be circulated عَلَيْهِمamong them بِـَٔانِيَةٍvessels مِّنof فِضَّةٍsilver وَأَكْوَابٍand cups كَانَتْ(that) are قَوَارِيرَا۠(of) crystal۝١٥ Āyah 15

قَوَارِيرَا۟crystal clear مِنof فِضَّةٍsilver قَدَّرُوهَاthey will determine its تَقْدِيرًاmeasure۝١٦ Āyah 16

وَيُسْقَوْنَand they will be given to drink فِيهَاtherein كَأْسًاa cup كَانَis مِزَاجُهَاits mixture زَنجَبِيلًا(of)۝١٧ Āyah 17

عَيْنًاa spring فِيهَاtherein تُسَمَّىٰnamed سَلْسَبِيلًاsalsabil۝١٨ Āyah 18

وَيَطُوفُand will circulate عَلَيْهِمْamong them وِلْدَٰنٌyoung boys مُّخَلَّدُونَmade eternal إِذَاwhen رَأَيْتَهُمْyou see them حَسِبْتَهُمْyou would think them لُؤْلُؤًا(to be) pearls مَّنثُورًاscattered۝١٩ Āyah 19

وَإِذَاand when رَأَيْتَyou look ثَمَّthen رَأَيْتَyou will see نَعِيمًاblessings وَمُلْكًاand a kingdom كَبِيرًاgreat۝٢٠ Āyah 20

عَٰلِيَهُمْupon them ثِيَابُ(will be) garments سُندُسٍ(of) fine silk خُضْرٌgreen وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌand heavy brocade وَحُلُّوٓا۟and they will be adorned أَسَاوِرَ(with) bracelets مِنof فِضَّةٍsilver وَسَقَىٰهُمْand will give them to drink رَبُّهُمْtheir lord شَرَابًاa drink طَهُورًاpure۝٢١ Āyah 21

إِنَّindeed هَٰذَاthis كَانَis لَكُمْfor you جَزَآءًa reward وَكَانَand has been سَعْيُكُمyour effort مَّشْكُورًاappreciated۝٢٢ Āyah 22
