التوبة

كَيْفَhow يَكُونُcan (there) be لِلْمُشْرِكِينَfor the polytheists عَهْدٌa covenant عِندَwith ٱللَّهِallah وَعِندَand with رَسُولِهِۦٓhis messenger إِلَّاexcept ٱلَّذِينَthose (with) whom عَٰهَدتُّمْyou made a عِندَnear ٱلْمَسْجِدِal masjid al haraam ٱلْحَرَامِal masjid al haraam فَمَاso long as ٱسْتَقَٰمُوا۟they are upright لَكُمْto you فَٱسْتَقِيمُوا۟then you be upright لَهُمْto them إِنَّindeed ٱللَّهَallah يُحِبُّloves ٱلْمُتَّقِينَthe righteous۝٧ Āyah 7

كَيْفَhow وَإِنwhile if يَظْهَرُوا۟they gain dominance عَلَيْكُمْover you لَاthey do not regard (the ties) يَرْقُبُوا۟they do not regard (the ties) فِيكُمْwith you إِلًّا(of) kinship وَلَاand not ذِمَّةًcovenant of protection يُرْضُونَكُمthey satisfy you بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْwith their mouths وَتَأْبَىٰbut refuse قُلُوبُهُمْtheir hearts وَأَكْثَرُهُمْand most of them فَٰسِقُونَ(are) defiantly disobedient۝٨ Āyah 8

ٱشْتَرَوْا۟they exchange بِـَٔايَٰتِ[with] the verses of allah ٱللَّهِ[with] the verses of allah ثَمَنًا(for) a little price قَلِيلًا(for) a little price فَصَدُّوا۟and they hinder (people) عَنfrom سَبِيلِهِۦٓhis way إِنَّهُمْindeed سَآءَevil مَا(is) what كَانُوا۟they used to يَعْمَلُونَdo۝٩ Āyah 9

لَاnot يَرْقُبُونَthey respect (the ties) فِىtowards مُؤْمِنٍa believer إِلًّا(of) kinship وَلَاand not ذِمَّةًcovenant of protection وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَand those هُمُ[they] ٱلْمُعْتَدُونَ(are) the transgressors۝١٠ Āyah 10

فَإِنbut if تَابُوا۟they repent وَأَقَامُوا۟and establish ٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayer وَءَاتَوُا۟and give ٱلزَّكَوٰةَthe zakah فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْthen (they are) your brothers فِىin ٱلدِّينِ[the] religion وَنُفَصِّلُand we explain in detail ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِthe verses لِقَوْمٍfor a people يَعْلَمُونَ(who) know۝١١ Āyah 11

وَإِنand if نَّكَثُوٓا۟they break أَيْمَٰنَهُمtheir oaths مِّنۢafter بَعْدِafter عَهْدِهِمْtheir treaty وَطَعَنُوا۟and defame فِى[in] دِينِكُمْyour religion فَقَٰتِلُوٓا۟then fight أَئِمَّةَthe leaders ٱلْكُفْرِ(of) [the] disbelief إِنَّهُمْindeed they لَآno أَيْمَٰنَoaths لَهُمْfor them لَعَلَّهُمْso that they may يَنتَهُونَcease۝١٢ Āyah 12

أَلَاwill not تُقَٰتِلُونَyou fight قَوْمًاa people نَّكَثُوٓا۟who broke أَيْمَٰنَهُمْtheir oaths وَهَمُّوا۟and determined بِإِخْرَاجِto drive out ٱلرَّسُولِthe messenger وَهُمand they بَدَءُوكُمْbegan (to attack) you أَوَّلَfirst مَرَّةٍtime أَتَخْشَوْنَهُمْdo you fear them فَٱللَّهُbut allah أَحَقُّ(has) more right أَنthat تَخْشَوْهُyou should fear him إِنif كُنتُمyou are مُّؤْمِنِينَbelievers۝١٣ Āyah 13

قَٰتِلُوهُمْfight them يُعَذِّبْهُمُallah will punish them ٱللَّهُallah will punish them بِأَيْدِيكُمْby your hands وَيُخْزِهِمْand disgrace them وَيَنصُرْكُمْand give you victory عَلَيْهِمْover them وَيَشْفِand will heal صُدُورَ(the) breasts قَوْمٍ(of) a people مُّؤْمِنِينَ(who are) believers۝١٤ Āyah 14

وَيُذْهِبْand remove غَيْظَ(the) anger قُلُوبِهِمْ(of) their hearts وَيَتُوبُand allah accepts repentance ٱللَّهُand allah accepts repentance عَلَىٰof مَنwhom يَشَآءُhe wills وَٱللَّهُand allah عَلِيمٌ(is) all knower حَكِيمٌall wise۝١٥ Āyah 15

أَمْor حَسِبْتُمْ(do) you think أَنthat تُتْرَكُوا۟you would be left وَلَمَّاwhile not يَعْلَمِallah made evident ٱللَّهُallah made evident ٱلَّذِينَthose who جَٰهَدُوا۟strive مِنكُمْamong you وَلَمْand not يَتَّخِذُوا۟take مِنbesides allah دُونِbesides allah ٱللَّهِbesides allah وَلَاand not رَسُولِهِۦhis messenger وَلَاand not ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers وَلِيجَةً(as) intimates وَٱللَّهُand allah خَبِيرٌۢ(is) all aware بِمَاof what تَعْمَلُونَyou do۝١٦ Āyah 16
