هود

وَأُوحِىَand it was revealed إِلَىٰto نُوحٍnuh أَنَّهُۥthat لَنwill never يُؤْمِنَbelieve مِنfrom قَوْمِكَyour people إِلَّاexcept مَن(those) who قَدْhave already ءَامَنَbelieved فَلَاso (do) not تَبْتَئِسْ(be) distressed بِمَاby what كَانُوا۟they have been يَفْعَلُونَdoing۝٣٦ Āyah 36

وَٱصْنَعِand construct ٱلْفُلْكَthe ship بِأَعْيُنِنَاunder our eyes وَوَحْيِنَاand our inspiration وَلَاand (do) not تُخَٰطِبْنِىaddress me فِىconcerning ٱلَّذِينَthose who ظَلَمُوٓا۟wronged; إِنَّهُمindeed they (are) مُّغْرَقُونَthe ones (to be) drowned۝٣٧ Āyah 37

وَيَصْنَعُand he was constructing ٱلْفُلْكَthe ship وَكُلَّمَاand every time مَرَّpassed عَلَيْهِby him مَلَأٌ(the) chiefs مِّنof قَوْمِهِۦhis people سَخِرُوا۟they ridiculed مِنْهُ[of] him قَالَhe said إِنif تَسْخَرُوا۟you ridicule مِنَّاus فَإِنَّاthen we نَسْخَرُcan ridicule مِنكُمْyou كَمَاas تَسْخَرُونَyou ridicule۝٣٨ Āyah 38

فَسَوْفَand soon تَعْلَمُونَyou will know مَن(on) whom يَأْتِيهِwill come عَذَابٌa punishment يُخْزِيهِ(that) will disgrace him وَيَحِلُّand will descend عَلَيْهِon him عَذَابٌa punishment مُّقِيمٌlasting۝٣٩ Āyah 39

حَتَّىٰٓtill إِذَاwhen جَآءَcame أَمْرُنَاour command وَفَارَand overflowed ٱلتَّنُّورُthe oven قُلْنَاwe said ٱحْمِلْload فِيهَاin it مِنof كُلٍّevery kind زَوْجَيْنِa pair ٱثْنَيْنِtwo وَأَهْلَكَand your family إِلَّاexcept مَنwho سَبَقَhas preceded عَلَيْهِagainst him ٱلْقَوْلُthe word وَمَنْand whoever ءَامَنَbelieved وَمَآand not ءَامَنَbelieved مَعَهُۥٓwith him إِلَّاexcept قَلِيلٌa few۝٤٠ Āyah 40

وَقَالَand he said ٱرْكَبُوا۟embark فِيهَاin it بِسْمِin the name ٱللَّهِof allah مَجْر۪ىٰهَا(is) its course وَمُرْسَىٰهَآand its anchorage إِنَّindeed رَبِّىmy lord لَغَفُورٌ(is) certainly oft forgiving رَّحِيمٌmost merciful۝٤١ Āyah 41

وَهِىَand it تَجْرِىsailed بِهِمْwith them فِىon مَوْجٍthe waves كَٱلْجِبَالِlike mountains وَنَادَىٰand nuh called out نُوحٌand nuh called out ٱبْنَهُۥ(to) his son وَكَانَand he was فِى[in] مَعْزِلٍapart يَٰبُنَىَّo my son ٱرْكَبembark مَّعَنَاwith us وَلَاand (do) not تَكُنbe مَّعَwith ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelievers۝٤٢ Āyah 42

قَالَhe said سَـَٔاوِىٓi will betake myself إِلَىٰto جَبَلٍa mountain يَعْصِمُنِى(that) will save me مِنَfrom ٱلْمَآءِthe water قَالَhe said لَا(there is) no عَاصِمَprotector ٱلْيَوْمَtoday مِنْfrom أَمْرِthe command of allah ٱللَّهِthe command of allah إِلَّاexcept مَن(on) whom رَّحِمَhe has mercy وَحَالَand came بَيْنَهُمَا(in) between them ٱلْمَوْجُthe waves فَكَانَso he was مِنَamong ٱلْمُغْرَقِينَthe drowned۝٤٣ Āyah 43

وَقِيلَand it was said يَٰٓأَرْضُo earth ٱبْلَعِىswallow مَآءَكِyour water وَيَٰسَمَآءُand o sky أَقْلِعِىwithhold وَغِيضَand subsided ٱلْمَآءُthe water وَقُضِىَand was fulfilled ٱلْأَمْرُthe command وَٱسْتَوَتْand it rested عَلَىon ٱلْجُودِىِّthe judi وَقِيلَand it was said بُعْدًاaway لِّلْقَوْمِwith the people ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers۝٤٤ Āyah 44

وَنَادَىٰand nuh called نُوحٌand nuh called رَّبَّهُۥ(to) his lord فَقَالَand said رَبِّo my lord إِنَّindeed ٱبْنِىmy son مِنْ(is) of أَهْلِىmy family وَإِنَّand indeed وَعْدَكَyour promise ٱلْحَقُّ(is) true وَأَنتَand you أَحْكَمُ(are) the most just ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ(of) the judges۝٤٥ Āyah 45

قَالَhe said يَٰنُوحُo nuh إِنَّهُۥindeed he لَيْسَ(is) not مِنْof أَهْلِكَyour family; إِنَّهُۥindeed [he] عَمَلٌ(his) deed غَيْرُ(is) other than صَٰلِحٍrighteous فَلَاso (do) not تَسْـَٔلْنِask me مَا(about) what لَيْسَnot لَكَyou have بِهِۦof it عِلْمٌany knowledge إِنِّىٓindeed i أَعِظُكَadmonish you أَنlest تَكُونَyou be مِنَamong ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَthe ignorant۝٤٦ Āyah 46

قَالَhe said رَبِّo my lord إِنِّىٓindeed i أَعُوذُseek refuge بِكَin you أَنْthat أَسْـَٔلَكَi (should) ask you مَاwhat لَيْسَnot لِىi have بِهِۦof it عِلْمٌknowledge وَإِلَّاand unless تَغْفِرْyou forgive لِىme وَتَرْحَمْنِىٓand you have mercy on me أَكُنi will be مِّنَamong ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَthe losers۝٤٧ Āyah 47

قِيلَit was said يَٰنُوحُo nuh ٱهْبِطْgo down بِسَلَٰمٍwith peace مِّنَّاfrom us وَبَرَكَٰتٍand blessings عَلَيْكَon you وَعَلَىٰٓand on أُمَمٍthe nations مِّمَّنfrom those مَّعَكَwith you وَأُمَمٌbut (to other) nations سَنُمَتِّعُهُمْwe will grant enjoyment; ثُمَّthen يَمَسُّهُمwill touch them مِّنَّاfrom us عَذَابٌa punishment أَلِيمٌpainful۝٤٨ Āyah 48

تِلْكَthis مِنْ(is) from أَنۢبَآءِthe news ٱلْغَيْبِ(of) the unseen نُوحِيهَآ(which) we reveal إِلَيْكَto you مَاnot كُنتَyou were تَعْلَمُهَآknowing it أَنتَyou وَلَاand not قَوْمُكَyour people مِنbefore قَبْلِbefore هَٰذَاthis فَٱصْبِرْso be patient; إِنَّindeed ٱلْعَٰقِبَةَthe end لِلْمُتَّقِينَ(is) for the god fearing۝٤٩ Āyah 49
