The Prophets
وَكَمْand how many قَصَمْنَاwe (have) shattered مِنof قَرْيَةٍa town كَانَتْ(that) was ظَالِمَةًunjust وَأَنشَأْنَاand we produced بَعْدَهَاafter them قَوْمًاanother people ءَاخَرِينَanother people١١ Āyah 11
فَلَمَّآthen when أَحَسُّوا۟they perceived بَأْسَنَآour torment إِذَاbehold هُمthey مِّنْهَاfrom it يَرْكُضُونَwere fleeing١٢ Āyah 12
لَاflee not تَرْكُضُوا۟flee not وَٱرْجِعُوٓا۟but return إِلَىٰto مَآwhat أُتْرِفْتُمْyou were given luxury فِيهِin it وَمَسَٰكِنِكُمْand to your homes لَعَلَّكُمْso that you may تُسْـَٔلُونَbe questioned١٣ Āyah 13
قَالُوا۟they said يَٰوَيْلَنَآo woe to us إِنَّاindeed [we] كُنَّاwe were ظَٰلِمِينَwrongdoers١٤ Āyah 14
فَمَاthen not زَالَتceased تِّلْكَ[this] دَعْوَىٰهُمْtheir cry حَتَّىٰuntil جَعَلْنَٰهُمْwe made them حَصِيدًاreaped خَٰمِدِينَextinct١٥ Āyah 15
وَمَاand not خَلَقْنَاwe created ٱلسَّمَآءَthe heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَand the earth وَمَاand what بَيْنَهُمَا(is) between them لَٰعِبِينَ(for) playing١٦ Āyah 16
لَوْif أَرَدْنَآwe intended أَنthat نَّتَّخِذَwe take لَهْوًاa pastime لَّٱتَّخَذْنَٰهُsurely we (could have) taken it مِنfrom لَّدُنَّآus إِنif كُنَّاwe were فَٰعِلِينَdoers١٧ Āyah 17
بَلْnay نَقْذِفُwe hurl بِٱلْحَقِّthe truth عَلَىagainst ٱلْبَٰطِلِ[the] falsehood فَيَدْمَغُهُۥand it breaks its head فَإِذَاbehold هُوَit (is) زَاهِقٌvanishing وَلَكُمُand for you ٱلْوَيْلُ(is) destruction مِمَّاfor what تَصِفُونَyou ascribe١٨ Āyah 18
وَلَهُۥand to him (belongs) مَنwhoever فِى(is) in ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِand the earth وَمَنْand (those) who عِندَهُۥ(are) near him لَاnot يَسْتَكْبِرُونَthey are arrogant عَنْto عِبَادَتِهِۦworship him وَلَاand not يَسْتَحْسِرُونَthey tire١٩ Āyah 19
يُسَبِّحُونَthey glorify (him) ٱلَّيْلَ[the] night وَٱلنَّهَارَand [the] day لَاnot يَفْتُرُونَthey slacken٢٠ Āyah 20
أَمِor ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟(have) they taken ءَالِهَةًgods مِّنَfrom ٱلْأَرْضِthe earth هُمْthey يُنشِرُونَraise (the dead)٢١ Āyah 21
لَوْif كَانَ(there) were فِيهِمَآin both of them ءَالِهَةٌgods إِلَّاbesides ٱللَّهُallah لَفَسَدَتَاsurely they (would) have been ruined فَسُبْحَٰنَso glorified ٱللَّهِ(is) allah رَبِّlord ٱلْعَرْشِ(of) the throne عَمَّا(above) what يَصِفُونَthey attribute٢٢ Āyah 22
لَاnot يُسْـَٔلُhe (can) be questioned عَمَّاabout what يَفْعَلُhe does وَهُمْbut they يُسْـَٔلُونَwill be questioned٢٣ Āyah 23
أَمِor ٱتَّخَذُوا۟(have) they taken مِنbesides him دُونِهِۦٓbesides him ءَالِهَةًgods قُلْsay هَاتُوا۟bring بُرْهَٰنَكُمْyour proof هَٰذَاthis ذِكْرُ(is) a reminder مَن(for those) who مَّعِىَ(are) with me وَذِكْرُand a reminder مَن(for those) who قَبْلِى(were) before me بَلْbut أَكْثَرُهُمْmost of them لَا(do) not يَعْلَمُونَknow ٱلْحَقَّthe truth فَهُمso they مُّعْرِضُونَ(are) averse٢٤ Āyah 24
وَمَآand not أَرْسَلْنَاwe sent مِنbefore you قَبْلِكَbefore you مِنany رَّسُولٍmessenger إِلَّاbut نُوحِىٓwe reveal(ed) إِلَيْهِto him أَنَّهُۥthat [he] لَآ(there is) no إِلَٰهَgod إِلَّآexcept أَنَا۠me فَٱعْبُدُونِso worship me٢٥ Āyah 25
وَقَالُوا۟and they say ٱتَّخَذَhas taken ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُthe most gracious وَلَدًاa son سُبْحَٰنَهُۥglorified is he بَلْnay عِبَادٌ(they are) slaves مُّكْرَمُونَhonored٢٦ Āyah 26
لَاnot يَسْبِقُونَهُۥthey (can) precede him بِٱلْقَوْلِin word وَهُمand they بِأَمْرِهِۦby his command يَعْمَلُونَact٢٧ Āyah 27
يَعْلَمُhe knows مَاwhat بَيْنَ(is) before them أَيْدِيهِمْ(is) before them وَمَاand what خَلْفَهُمْ(is) behind them وَلَاand not يَشْفَعُونَthey (can) intercede إِلَّاexcept لِمَنِfor whom ٱرْتَضَىٰhe approves وَهُمand they مِّنْfrom خَشْيَتِهِۦfear of him مُشْفِقُونَstand in awe٢٨ Āyah 28
وَمَنand whoever يَقُلْsays مِنْهُمْof them إِنِّىٓindeed i am إِلَٰهٌa god مِّنbesides him دُونِهِۦbesides him فَذَٰلِكَthen that نَجْزِيهِwe will recompense جَهَنَّمَ(with) hell كَذَٰلِكَthus نَجْزِىwe recompense ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoers٢٩ Āyah 29
