النور

ٱللَّهُallah نُورُ(is the) light ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِand the earth مَثَلُ(the) example نُورِهِۦ(of) his light كَمِشْكَوٰةٍ(is) like a niche فِيهَاin it مِصْبَاحٌ(is) a lamp; ٱلْمِصْبَاحُthe lamp فِى(is) in زُجَاجَةٍa glass ٱلزُّجَاجَةُthe glass كَأَنَّهَاas if it were كَوْكَبٌa star دُرِّىٌّbrilliant يُوقَدُ(which) is lit مِنfrom شَجَرَةٍa tree مُّبَٰرَكَةٍblessed زَيْتُونَةٍan olive لَّاnot شَرْقِيَّةٍ(of the) east وَلَاand not غَرْبِيَّةٍ(of the) west يَكَادُwould almost زَيْتُهَاits oil يُضِىٓءُglow وَلَوْeven if لَمْnot تَمْسَسْهُtouched it نَارٌfire نُّورٌlight عَلَىٰupon نُورٍlight يَهْدِىallah guides ٱللَّهُallah guides لِنُورِهِۦto his light مَنwhom يَشَآءُhe wills وَيَضْرِبُand allah sets forth ٱللَّهُand allah sets forth ٱلْأَمْثَٰلَthe examples لِلنَّاسِfor the mankind وَٱللَّهُand allah بِكُلِّof every شَىْءٍthing عَلِيمٌ(is) all knower۝٣٥ Āyah 35

فِىin بُيُوتٍhouses أَذِنَ(which) allah ordered ٱللَّهُ(which) allah ordered أَنthat تُرْفَعَthey be raised وَيُذْكَرَand be mentioned فِيهَاin them ٱسْمُهُۥhis name يُسَبِّحُglorify لَهُۥ[to] him فِيهَاin them بِٱلْغُدُوِّin the mornings وَٱلْـَٔاصَالِand (in) the evenings۝٣٦ Āyah 36

رِجَالٌmen لَّاnot تُلْهِيهِمْdistracts them تِجَٰرَةٌtrade وَلَاand not بَيْعٌsale عَنfrom ذِكْرِ(the) remembrance of allah ٱللَّهِ(the) remembrance of allah وَإِقَامِand (from) establishing ٱلصَّلَوٰةِthe prayer وَإِيتَآءِand giving ٱلزَّكَوٰةِzakah يَخَافُونَthey fear يَوْمًاa day تَتَقَلَّبُwill turn about فِيهِtherein ٱلْقُلُوبُthe hearts وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرُand the eyes۝٣٧ Āyah 37

لِيَجْزِيَهُمُthat allah may reward them ٱللَّهُthat allah may reward them أَحْسَنَ(with the) best مَا(of) what عَمِلُوا۟they did وَيَزِيدَهُمand increase them مِّنfrom فَضْلِهِۦhis bounty وَٱللَّهُand allah يَرْزُقُprovides مَنwhom يَشَآءُhe wills بِغَيْرِwithout حِسَابٍmeasure۝٣٨ Āyah 38

وَٱلَّذِينَbut those who كَفَرُوٓا۟disbelieve أَعْمَٰلُهُمْtheir deeds كَسَرَابٍۭ(are) like a mirage بِقِيعَةٍin a lowland يَحْسَبُهُthinks it ٱلظَّمْـَٔانُthe thirsty one مَآءً(to be) water حَتَّىٰٓuntil إِذَاwhen جَآءَهُۥhe comes to it لَمْnot يَجِدْهُhe finds it شَيْـًٔا(to be) anything وَوَجَدَbut he finds ٱللَّهَallah عِندَهُۥbefore him فَوَفَّىٰهُhe will pay him in full حِسَابَهُۥhis due وَٱللَّهُand allah سَرِيعُ(is) swift ٱلْحِسَابِ(in) the account۝٣٩ Āyah 39

أَوْor كَظُلُمَٰتٍ(is) like (the) darkness[es] فِىin بَحْرٍa sea لُّجِّىٍّdeep يَغْشَىٰهُcovers it مَوْجٌa wave مِّنon it فَوْقِهِۦon it مَوْجٌa wave مِّنon it فَوْقِهِۦon it سَحَابٌa cloud ظُلُمَٰتٌۢdarkness[es] بَعْضُهَاsome of it فَوْقَon بَعْضٍothers إِذَآwhen أَخْرَجَhe puts out يَدَهُۥhis hand لَمْhardly يَكَدْhardly يَرَىٰهَاhe (can) see it وَمَنand (for) whom لَّمْnot يَجْعَلِallah (has) made ٱللَّهُallah (has) made لَهُۥfor him نُورًاa light فَمَاthen not لَهُۥfor him مِن(is) any نُّورٍlight۝٤٠ Āyah 40
