يس

وَٱضْرِبْand set forth لَهُمto them مَّثَلًاan example أَصْحَٰبَ(of the) companions ٱلْقَرْيَةِ(of) the city إِذْwhen جَآءَهَاcame to it ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَthe messengers۝١٣ Āyah 13

إِذْwhen أَرْسَلْنَآwe sent إِلَيْهِمُto them ٱثْنَيْنِtwo (messengers) فَكَذَّبُوهُمَاbut they denied both of them فَعَزَّزْنَاso we strengthened them بِثَالِثٍwith a third فَقَالُوٓا۟and they said إِنَّآindeed إِلَيْكُمto you مُّرْسَلُونَ(are) messengers۝١٤ Āyah 14

قَالُوا۟they said مَآnot أَنتُمْyou إِلَّا(are) but بَشَرٌhuman beings مِّثْلُنَاlike us وَمَآand not أَنزَلَhas revealed ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُthe most gracious مِنany شَىْءٍthing إِنْnot أَنتُمْyou إِلَّا(are) but تَكْذِبُونَlying۝١٥ Āyah 15

قَالُوا۟they said رَبُّنَاour lord يَعْلَمُknows إِنَّآthat we إِلَيْكُمْto you لَمُرْسَلُونَ(are) surely messengers۝١٦ Āyah 16

وَمَاand not عَلَيْنَآ(is) on us إِلَّاexcept ٱلْبَلَٰغُthe conveyance ٱلْمُبِينُclear۝١٧ Āyah 17

قَالُوٓا۟they said إِنَّاindeed we تَطَيَّرْنَا[we] see an evil omen بِكُمْfrom you لَئِنif لَّمْnot تَنتَهُوا۟you desist لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْsurely we will stone you وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُمand surely will touch you مِّنَّاfrom us عَذَابٌa punishment أَلِيمٌpainful۝١٨ Āyah 18

قَالُوا۟they said طَٰٓئِرُكُمyour evil omen مَّعَكُمْ(be) with you أَئِنis it because ذُكِّرْتُمyou are admonished بَلْnay أَنتُمْyou قَوْمٌ(are) a people مُّسْرِفُونَtransgressing۝١٩ Āyah 19

وَجَآءَand came مِنْfrom أَقْصَا(the) farthest end ٱلْمَدِينَةِ(of) the city رَجُلٌa man يَسْعَىٰrunning قَالَhe said يَٰقَوْمِo my people ٱتَّبِعُوا۟follow ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَthe messengers۝٢٠ Āyah 20

ٱتَّبِعُوا۟follow مَن(those) who لَّا(do) not يَسْـَٔلُكُمْask (of) you أَجْرًاany payment وَهُمand they مُّهْتَدُونَ(are) rightly guided۝٢١ Āyah 21

وَمَاand what لِىَ(is) for me لَآ(that) not أَعْبُدُi worship ٱلَّذِىthe one who فَطَرَنِىcreated me وَإِلَيْهِand to whom تُرْجَعُونَyou will be returned۝٢٢ Āyah 22

ءَأَتَّخِذُshould i take مِنbesides him دُونِهِۦٓbesides him ءَالِهَةًgods إِنif يُرِدْنِintends for me ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُthe most gracious بِضُرٍّany harm لَّاnot تُغْنِwill avail عَنِّى[from] me شَفَٰعَتُهُمْtheir intercession شَيْـًٔا(in) anything وَلَاand not يُنقِذُونِthey (can) save me۝٢٣ Āyah 23

إِنِّىٓindeed i إِذًاthen لَّفِىsurely would be in ضَلَٰلٍan error مُّبِينٍclear۝٢٤ Āyah 24

إِنِّىٓindeed i ءَامَنتُ[i] have believed بِرَبِّكُمْin your lord فَٱسْمَعُونِso listen to me۝٢٥ Āyah 25

قِيلَit was said ٱدْخُلِenter ٱلْجَنَّةَparadise قَالَhe said يَٰلَيْتَi wish قَوْمِىmy people يَعْلَمُونَknew۝٢٦ Āyah 26

بِمَاof how غَفَرَhas forgiven لِىme رَبِّىmy lord وَجَعَلَنِىand placed me مِنَamong ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَthe honored ones۝٢٧ Āyah 27

وَمَآand not أَنزَلْنَاwe sent down عَلَىٰupon قَوْمِهِۦhis people مِنۢafter him بَعْدِهِۦafter him مِنany جُندٍhost مِّنَfrom ٱلسَّمَآءِthe heaven وَمَاand not كُنَّاwere we مُنزِلِينَ(to) send down۝٢٨ Āyah 28

إِنnot كَانَتْit was إِلَّاbut صَيْحَةًa shout وَٰحِدَةًone فَإِذَاthen behold هُمْthey خَٰمِدُونَ(were) extinguished۝٢٩ Āyah 29

يَٰحَسْرَةًalas عَلَىfor ٱلْعِبَادِthe servants مَاnot يَأْتِيهِمcame to them مِّنany رَّسُولٍmessenger إِلَّاbut كَانُوا۟they did بِهِۦmock at him يَسْتَهْزِءُونَmock at him۝٣٠ Āyah 30

أَلَمْdo not يَرَوْا۟they see كَمْhow many أَهْلَكْنَاwe destroyed قَبْلَهُمbefore them مِّنَof ٱلْقُرُونِthe generations أَنَّهُمْthat they إِلَيْهِمْto them لَاwill not return يَرْجِعُونَwill not return۝٣١ Āyah 31

وَإِنand surely كُلٌّall لَّمَّاthen جَمِيعٌtogether لَّدَيْنَاbefore us مُحْضَرُونَ(will be) brought۝٣٢ Āyah 32
