يس

وَءَايَةٌand a sign لَّهُمُfor them ٱلْأَرْضُ(is) the earth ٱلْمَيْتَةُdead أَحْيَيْنَٰهَاwe give it life وَأَخْرَجْنَاand we bring forth مِنْهَاfrom it حَبًّاgrain فَمِنْهُand from it يَأْكُلُونَthey eat۝٣٣ Āyah 33

وَجَعَلْنَاand we placed فِيهَاtherein جَنَّٰتٍgardens مِّنof نَّخِيلٍdate palms وَأَعْنَٰبٍand grapevines وَفَجَّرْنَاand we caused to gush فِيهَاin it مِنَof ٱلْعُيُونِthe springs۝٣٤ Āyah 34

لِيَأْكُلُوا۟that they may eat مِنof ثَمَرِهِۦits fruit وَمَاand not عَمِلَتْهُmade it أَيْدِيهِمْtheir hands أَفَلَاso will not يَشْكُرُونَthey be grateful۝٣٥ Āyah 35

سُبْحَٰنَglory be ٱلَّذِى(to) the one who خَلَقَcreated ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ(in) pairs كُلَّهَاall مِمَّاof what تُنۢبِتُgrows ٱلْأَرْضُthe earth وَمِنْand of أَنفُسِهِمْthemselves وَمِمَّاand of what لَاnot يَعْلَمُونَthey know۝٣٦ Āyah 36

وَءَايَةٌand a sign لَّهُمُfor them ٱلَّيْلُ(is) the night نَسْلَخُwe withdraw مِنْهُfrom it ٱلنَّهَارَthe day فَإِذَاthen behold هُمthey مُّظْلِمُونَ(are) those in darkness۝٣٧ Āyah 37

وَٱلشَّمْسُand the sun تَجْرِىruns لِمُسْتَقَرٍّto a term appointed لَّهَاfor it ذَٰلِكَthat تَقْدِيرُ(is the) decree ٱلْعَزِيزِ(of) the all mighty ٱلْعَلِيمِthe all knowing۝٣٨ Āyah 38

وَٱلْقَمَرَand the moon قَدَّرْنَٰهُwe have ordained for it مَنَازِلَphases حَتَّىٰuntil عَادَit returns كَٱلْعُرْجُونِlike the date stalk ٱلْقَدِيمِthe old۝٣٩ Āyah 39

لَاnot ٱلشَّمْسُthe sun يَنۢبَغِىis permitted لَهَآfor it أَنthat تُدْرِكَit overtakes ٱلْقَمَرَthe moon وَلَاand not ٱلَّيْلُthe night سَابِقُ(can) outstrip ٱلنَّهَارِthe day وَكُلٌّbut all فِىin فَلَكٍan orbit يَسْبَحُونَthey are floating۝٤٠ Āyah 40

وَءَايَةٌand a sign لَّهُمْfor them أَنَّا(is) that حَمَلْنَاwe carried ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْtheir offspring فِىin ٱلْفُلْكِthe ship ٱلْمَشْحُونِladen۝٤١ Āyah 41

وَخَلَقْنَاand we created لَهُمfor them مِّنfrom مِّثْلِهِۦ(the) likes of it مَاwhat يَرْكَبُونَthey ride۝٤٢ Āyah 42

وَإِنand if نَّشَأْwe will نُغْرِقْهُمْwe could drown them; فَلَاthen not صَرِيخَ(would be) a responder to a cry لَهُمْfor them وَلَاand not هُمْthey يُنقَذُونَwould be saved۝٤٣ Āyah 43

إِلَّاexcept رَحْمَةً(by) mercy مِّنَّاfrom us وَمَتَٰعًاand provision إِلَىٰfor حِينٍa time۝٤٤ Āyah 44

وَإِذَاand when قِيلَit is said لَهُمُto them ٱتَّقُوا۟fear مَاwhat بَيْنَ(is) before you أَيْدِيكُمْ(is) before you وَمَاand what خَلْفَكُمْ(is) behind you لَعَلَّكُمْso that you may تُرْحَمُونَreceive mercy۝٤٥ Āyah 45

وَمَاand not تَأْتِيهِمcomes to them مِّنْof ءَايَةٍa sign مِّنْfrom ءَايَٰتِ(the) signs رَبِّهِمْ(of) their lord إِلَّاbut كَانُوا۟they عَنْهَاfrom it مُعْرِضِينَturn away۝٤٦ Āyah 46

وَإِذَاand when قِيلَit is said لَهُمْto them أَنفِقُوا۟spend مِمَّاfrom what رَزَقَكُمُ(has) provided you ٱللَّهُallah قَالَsaid ٱلَّذِينَthose who كَفَرُوا۟disbelieved لِلَّذِينَto those who ءَامَنُوٓا۟believed أَنُطْعِمُshould we feed مَنwhom لَّوْif يَشَآءُallah willed ٱللَّهُallah willed أَطْعَمَهُۥٓhe would have fed him إِنْnot أَنتُمْ(are) you إِلَّاexcept فِىin ضَلَٰلٍan error مُّبِينٍclear۝٤٧ Āyah 47

وَيَقُولُونَand they say مَتَىٰwhen (is) هَٰذَاthis ٱلْوَعْدُpromise إِنif كُنتُمْyou are صَٰدِقِينَtruthful۝٤٨ Āyah 48

مَاnot يَنظُرُونَthey await إِلَّاexcept صَيْحَةًa shout وَٰحِدَةًone تَأْخُذُهُمْit will seize them وَهُمْwhile they يَخِصِّمُونَare disputing۝٤٩ Āyah 49

فَلَاthen not يَسْتَطِيعُونَthey will be able تَوْصِيَةً(to) make a will وَلَآand not إِلَىٰٓto أَهْلِهِمْtheir people يَرْجِعُونَthey (can) return۝٥٠ Āyah 50
