التوبة

عَفَا(may) allah forgive ٱللَّهُ(may) allah forgive عَنكَyou لِمَwhy (did) أَذِنتَyou grant leave لَهُمْto them حَتَّىٰuntil يَتَبَيَّنَ(became) evident لَكَto you ٱلَّذِينَthose who صَدَقُوا۟were truthful وَتَعْلَمَand you knew ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَthe liars۝٤٣ Āyah 43

لَا(would) not ask your permission يَسْتَـْٔذِنُكَ(would) not ask your permission ٱلَّذِينَthose who يُؤْمِنُونَbelieve بِٱللَّهِin allah وَٱلْيَوْمِand the day ٱلْـَٔاخِرِthe last أَنthat يُجَٰهِدُوا۟they strive بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْwith their wealth وَأَنفُسِهِمْand their lives وَٱللَّهُand allah عَلِيمٌۢ(is) all knower بِٱلْمُتَّقِينَof the righteous۝٤٤ Āyah 44

إِنَّمَاonly يَسْتَـْٔذِنُكَask your leave ٱلَّذِينَthose who لَا(do) not يُؤْمِنُونَbelieve بِٱللَّهِin allah وَٱلْيَوْمِand the day ٱلْـَٔاخِرِthe last وَٱرْتَابَتْand (are in) doubts قُلُوبُهُمْtheir hearts فَهُمْso they فِىin رَيْبِهِمْtheir doubts يَتَرَدَّدُونَthey waver۝٤٥ Āyah 45

وَلَوْand if أَرَادُوا۟they had wished ٱلْخُرُوجَ(to) go forth لَأَعَدُّوا۟surely they (would) have prepared لَهُۥfor it عُدَّةً(some) preparation وَلَٰكِنbut كَرِهَallah disliked ٱللَّهُallah disliked ٱنۢبِعَاثَهُمْtheir being sent فَثَبَّطَهُمْso he made them lag behind وَقِيلَand it was said ٱقْعُدُوا۟sit مَعَwith ٱلْقَٰعِدِينَthose who sit۝٤٦ Āyah 46

لَوْif خَرَجُوا۟they (had) gone forth فِيكُمwith you مَّاnot زَادُوكُمْthey (would) have increased you إِلَّاexcept خَبَالًا(in) confusion وَلَأَوْضَعُوا۟and would have been active خِلَٰلَكُمْin your midst يَبْغُونَكُمُseeking (for) you ٱلْفِتْنَةَdissension وَفِيكُمْand among you (are some) سَمَّٰعُونَwho would have listened لَهُمْto them وَٱللَّهُand allah عَلِيمٌۢ(is) all knower بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَof the wrongdoers۝٤٧ Āyah 47

لَقَدِverily ٱبْتَغَوُا۟they had sought ٱلْفِتْنَةَdissension مِنbefore قَبْلُbefore وَقَلَّبُوا۟and had upset لَكَfor you ٱلْأُمُورَthe matters حَتَّىٰuntil جَآءَcame ٱلْحَقُّthe truth وَظَهَرَand became manifest أَمْرُ(the) order of allah ٱللَّهِ(the) order of allah وَهُمْwhile they كَٰرِهُونَdisliked (it)۝٤٨ Āyah 48

وَمِنْهُمand among them مَّن(is he) who يَقُولُsays ٱئْذَنgrant me leave لِّىgrant me leave وَلَاand (do) not تَفْتِنِّىٓput me to trial أَلَاsurely فِىin ٱلْفِتْنَةِthe trial سَقَطُوا۟they have fallen وَإِنَّand indeed جَهَنَّمَhell لَمُحِيطَةٌۢ(will) surely surround بِٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelievers۝٤٩ Āyah 49

إِنif تُصِبْكَbefalls you حَسَنَةٌgood تَسُؤْهُمْit distresses them وَإِنbut if تُصِبْكَbefalls you مُصِيبَةٌa calamity يَقُولُوا۟they say قَدْverily أَخَذْنَآwe took أَمْرَنَاour matter مِنbefore قَبْلُbefore وَيَتَوَلَّوا۟and they turn away وَّهُمْwhile they فَرِحُونَ(are) rejoicing۝٥٠ Āyah 50

قُلsay لَّنnever يُصِيبَنَآwill befall us إِلَّاexcept مَاwhat كَتَبَallah has decreed ٱللَّهُallah has decreed لَنَاfor us هُوَhe مَوْلَىٰنَا(is) our protector وَعَلَىand on ٱللَّهِallah فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ[so] let the believers put (their) trust ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ[so] let the believers put (their) trust۝٥١ Āyah 51

قُلْsay هَلْdo تَرَبَّصُونَyou await بِنَآfor us إِلَّآexcept إِحْدَىone ٱلْحُسْنَيَيْنِ(of) the two best (things) وَنَحْنُwhile we نَتَرَبَّصُ[we] await بِكُمْfor you أَنthat يُصِيبَكُمُallah will afflict you ٱللَّهُallah will afflict you بِعَذَابٍwith a punishment مِّنْfrom عِندِهِۦٓ[near] him أَوْor بِأَيْدِينَاby our hands فَتَرَبَّصُوٓا۟so wait إِنَّاindeed we مَعَكُمwith you مُّتَرَبِّصُونَ(are) waiting۝٥٢ Āyah 52

قُلْsay أَنفِقُوا۟spend طَوْعًاwillingly أَوْor كَرْهًاunwillingly; لَّنnever يُتَقَبَّلَwill be accepted مِنكُمْfrom you إِنَّكُمْindeed you كُنتُمْ[you] are قَوْمًاa people فَٰسِقِينَdefiantly disobedient۝٥٣ Āyah 53

وَمَاand not مَنَعَهُمْprevents them أَنthat تُقْبَلَis accepted مِنْهُمْfrom them نَفَقَٰتُهُمْtheir contributions إِلَّآexcept أَنَّهُمْthat they كَفَرُوا۟disbelieve بِٱللَّهِin allah وَبِرَسُولِهِۦand in his messenger وَلَاand not يَأْتُونَthey come ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ(to) the prayer إِلَّاexcept وَهُمْwhile they كُسَالَىٰ(are) lazy وَلَاand not يُنفِقُونَthey spend إِلَّاexcept وَهُمْwhile they كَٰرِهُونَ(are) unwilling۝٥٤ Āyah 54

فَلَاso (let) not تُعْجِبْكَimpress you أَمْوَٰلُهُمْtheir wealth وَلَآand not أَوْلَٰدُهُمْtheir children إِنَّمَاonly يُرِيدُallah intends ٱللَّهُallah intends لِيُعَذِّبَهُمto punish them بِهَاwith it فِىin ٱلْحَيَوٰةِthe life ٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the world وَتَزْهَقَand should depart أَنفُسُهُمْtheir souls وَهُمْwhile they كَٰفِرُونَ(are) disbelievers۝٥٥ Āyah 55

وَيَحْلِفُونَand they swear بِٱللَّهِby allah إِنَّهُمْindeed they لَمِنكُمْsurely (are) of you وَمَاwhile not هُمthey مِّنكُمْ(are) of you وَلَٰكِنَّهُمْbut they قَوْمٌ(are) a people يَفْرَقُونَ(who) are afraid۝٥٦ Āyah 56

لَوْif يَجِدُونَthey could find مَلْجَـًٔاa refuge أَوْor مَغَٰرَٰتٍcaves أَوْor مُدَّخَلًاa place to enter لَّوَلَّوْا۟surely they would turn إِلَيْهِto it وَهُمْand they يَجْمَحُونَrun wild۝٥٧ Āyah 57

وَمِنْهُمand among them مَّن(is he) who يَلْمِزُكَcriticizes you فِىconcerning ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِthe charities فَإِنْthen if أُعْطُوا۟they are given مِنْهَاfrom it رَضُوا۟they are pleased; وَإِنbut if لَّمْnot يُعْطَوْا۟they are given مِنْهَآfrom it إِذَاthen هُمْthey يَسْخَطُونَ(are) enraged۝٥٨ Āyah 58

وَلَوْand if أَنَّهُمْ[that] they رَضُوا۟(were) satisfied مَآ(with) what ءَاتَىٰهُمُallah gave them ٱللَّهُallah gave them وَرَسُولُهُۥand his messenger وَقَالُوا۟and said حَسْبُنَاsufficient for us ٱللَّهُ(is) allah سَيُؤْتِينَاallah will give us ٱللَّهُallah will give us مِنof فَضْلِهِۦhis bounty وَرَسُولُهُۥٓand his messenger إِنَّآindeed we إِلَىto ٱللَّهِallah رَٰغِبُونَturn our hopes۝٥٩ Āyah 59
